Title - Plantation drive along railway tracks in Nizamabad district of Telangana

A sapling plantation drive has been decided by Nizamabad administration in Telangana across the Railway track in the entire district. The idea is to make district look greener and cleaner. This drive will kick off from July 12 as a part of Haritha Haaram program which is in its third phase.

Nizamabad has rail connectivity throughout the district and plantation will help the district in long term. Recently Railway ministry inaugrated Nizamabad - Karimanagar rail line thereby increasing the importance if the district.

According to district administration, planting saplings along the railway lines will popularise Haritha Haaram programme between the people and will educate them about the importance of protecting forests and planting trees to protect environment.

After carefully following the Railway authorities’ rules and regulations and holding several meetings with railway engineers the Nodal Officer finalised the Haritha Haaram programme.
