The Supreme Court has directed the Centre, Delhi government and Delhi Metro to respond to a petition seeking direction to provide drinking water and toilet facilities at Metro stations. A bench of headed by justice Deepak Verma issued notices on advocate Satish Kumar Sharma's petition challenging a Delhi HC order dismissing his plea. It tagged the appeal with another petition filed by an NGO that too has complained about lack of various basic amenities at all Metro stations. According to the petitioner, despite Metro rapid growth, commuters have to travel without the benefit of water or toilet facilities. |
