Chennai : Southern Railway advised passengers to take precautions while booking two-wheeler.An SR press release said carrying of dangerous goods like petrol, kerosene, etc. by trains is prohibited and is punishable under Railways Act."As per extant procedure, passengers booking their two-wheelers by train should ensure that the petrol tanks are empty. Therefore, passengers are requested to ensure that the tanks are fully empty before bringing them into railway premises for booking. Passengers failing to do so are liable to be prosecuted under Section-67 of Railways Act, with fine upto 1000 and/or imprisonment upto three years," the release added. |
