As Pawan Bansal started listing new projects and services, many MPs were on their feet, complaining that their constituencies had been ignored.Of the nine new rail factory projects proposed, seven are located in the Congress-held constituencies.
A new forged wheel factory is proposed at Rae Bareli represented by Sonia Gandhi
A greenfield EMU manufacturing facility at Bhilwara, constituency of C.P. Joshi, former Railway Minister
Coach manufacturing unit in Sonepat district (Jitender Singh Malik)
Coach rehabilitation workshop at Kurnool (K.J.P. Reddy)
A facility to take up overhauls of broadgauge wagons at Pratapgarh (Rajkumari Ratna Singh).
A new wagon maintenance workshop proposed at Kalahandi, Odisha, (Bhakta Charan Das)
And, finally, a modern signalling equipment facility is proposed at Chandigarh (Bansal’s constituency)
