The old Yamuna Bridge was reopened for rail traffic on Thursday as the water level of Yamuna receded. The bridge was closed on Wednesday after the river rose to 207.32 metres, and the water reached the bearings of the bridge.Officials said the water receded nearly seven metres below the bridge, allowing them to open it for rail traffic at 10.40 am. Delhi Disaster Management Authority said the level of water in Yamuna was down to 206.83 metres at 2 pm on Thursday."The movement of train was found safe and the services were restored," a spokesperson for Northern Railway said.However, a speed restriction of 10 kmph has been imposed and goods trains are barred on the bridge.Several trains such as Delhi-Alipur Dwar Mahananda Express, New Delhi-Bhubaneshwar Superfast special train, Delhi-Howrah Janata Express have been rescheduled.
