Three coaches of two trains stationed at the Old Delhi railway station caught fire on Tuesday while being serviced.Since few railway staff members are present during maintenance, no injury or casualty was reported. While they haven't ruled out a short circuit as the cause of fire, senior railway officials said prima facie it appeared to be a case of 'sabotage'.The divisional railway manager of Northern Railways has ordered an inquiry and demanded a report in two days.According to the railway officials, the first fire was reported from the luggage coach of Faizabad Express around 10.45 am.It was reportedly doused in 20 minutes, but while the officials were trying to make sense of the situation, another fire broke out in the sleeper and general coaches of Satyagrah Express.'At the first glance, it looks like sabotage but we have to inquire into the matter before saying anything definite,' a railway spokesperson said. |
