Title - Not the usual buzz this time for rail budgetPosted by : RailEnquiry Admin on Jan 25, 2017 - 09:29:10 AM |

With date of budget approaching closer and closer, the normal tradition that was followed till previous year was extensive talk of rail budget presentation; a continuous buzz with nation normally expecting new train announcements with political motives. Rail budgets attracted more participation than compares to general budget because every MP of certain constituency expected something from it. However this time the normal buzz is missing courtesy – merger of rail budget in Union budget. Finance minister Arun Jaitely will rise up at 11AM in Lok Sabha on February 1 and will present a union budget and a small part of the same will include the rail budget. Infact, it is from 2014 when rail budget lost its sheen when practice of announcing new rain, facilities or projects etc. were dispensed to avoid political acrimony especially for those who are left out. From the past two years BJP government is trying to de-politicise the rail budget and announcement of new trains, projects or other facilities were avoided. The exercise of presenting separate rail budget used to be more glamorous with MPs lobbied for a better deal for their constituency with the minister. |
