Title - North Central Railway too man all Limited Height Subway locations in Monsoon season

In the weekly safety meeting held on June 11, discussions on recent incidents formed a major part. After the meeting, North Central Railway decided to take precaution this monsoon season and to avoid any mishap it will man all Limited Height Subway (LHS) locations. This will ensure that there will no disruption caused in track geometry as soil settlesdown due to rainfall.

GM also advised that Champhering of all the bolt holes of rails should be ensured so that microscopic cracks from the bolt holes are eliminated and integrity of the track is ensured. A team will conduct a thorough audit of the track-maintenance where rail fracture case occurs frequently in North Central Railway.

Unserviceable coaches standing in station yards will also be disposed of to avoid any unholy activity of miscreants in such coaches. It was decided in the meeting that pruning of trees vulnerable to fall on track and obstruct the movement of train must also be done .

GM - NCR advised that all care should be taken to prevent throwing of garbage o­n railway tracks while cleaning the platform area, so as to prevent clogging of the ballast and resultant build-up of water/moisture o­n the tracks.
