Despite continuous demand of passengers holding a First Class pass to travel in AC local train, Western Railway is yet to take decision on whether First class pass holders of non-AC locals will be allowed in AC locals even after paying the difference. According to Western Railway the competent authority is yet to receive any such approval.

However some media reports circulated news that existing first class passes can be used in AC local trains after paying the difference to the ticket checker present on board in the AC train. Western Railway has clarified that no such decision has been taken yet.

Although, WR has asked for suggestions from passengers through its website by adding separate head on its website. After due consideration with respect to all aspects a decision will be taken at appropriate level, whether a first class pass holder be allowed to travel in AC train on paying the difference.
