Title - N F Railway GM inspects Hill Section

To take the stock of the ongoing restoration works of Lumding – Badarpur hill section of N F Railway the General Manager of N F Railway Sri R.S Virdhi along with a host of senior railway officials inspected right from Lumding to Mailongdisa on Wednesday.

Sri R.S Virdhi reached here by a special train from Lumding and from Jatinga visited several locations up to Mailongdisa by motor trolley. 

The railway communication between Lumding- Badarpur hill section of NF Railway is the life of entire southern Assam and its neighbouring state like Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram. This was snapped away by heavy landslides due to incessant rain at 90 locations damaging 70 km of track besides tunnel and bridge. This was the biggest damage in the recent past.

After his inspection the General Manager of N F Railway Sri R.S Virdhi while talking to the media at Haflong Hill Railway station assured that the train communication would be resumed in this hill section by July 30 if the weather remains well and prior to that the running of goods trains would be resumed from July 24 next. Answering the query of the media person the General Manager said proper maintenance of this historic Lumding – Badarpur hill section of N F Railway should be given right dues. The Hill queen running between Lower Haflong – Lumding would be resumed by July 25, the GM disclosed.
