To speed up work on Mumbai – Ahmedabad corridor for high speed train Indian railways is planning to do aerial survey with help of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). This technology not only gives accurate data for even below vegetation but it will also allow to complete the whole survey in 9 to 10 weeks. Normally done survey usually takes 6 to 8 months. The use of LiDAR will help to kick start the dream project of Modi government by 2018. According to plan, except 21 km the entire track will be elevated. The 21 km track will be underground out of which 7km will under the sea. The survey will be done with help of helicopter equipped with a high resolution 100MP camera. Total flying time for covering the entire corridor will be 30 hours. |
