Title - More Indians travel in airplanes than in AC coaches of trains

In documents released marking fourth anniversary of BJP rule, government said that number of flyers in India is more than those travelling in AC coaches of trains.

Over the past three years, aviation traffic saw a growth in the range of 18 to 20 percent making India emerging as third largest aviation market. The aviation ministry has set a target of five fold increase in number of passengers trips. According to the document, domestic air passengers crossed 100 million in 2017. Also there will be 1000 more aircraft in the Indian skies in a decade compared to 550 aircraft today.
