Title - MOCK DRILL TO CHECK RLY. STAFF'S PREPAREDNESS

Mysore, Apr.27-The Safety Organisation of Mysore Division, South Western Railway (SWR), conducted a mock drill of accident relief machinery of Harihar on Apr. 24 to check the status of preparedness of the staff and equipments in case of any untoward incidents over Mysore Division.

The Accident Relief Medical Van (ARMV) stabled at Harihar Station was utilised for the purpose. ARMV was started from Harihar at 1.20 pm and reached Byadagi at 2 pm. After reaching Byadagi, trial was conducted with the equipments available in the ARMV in which the preparedness of staff in rescue and relief operations during an accident was checked and found to be satisfactory.

During the drill, a mock video conference was conducted with Divisional Office at Mysore, Zonal office at Hubli and also with Railway Board from Byadagi station. The live video of the operations at the location was shown to them during the video conference.

The facility for video conference from a remote location with Divisional, Zonal or Railway Board level has been a part of the divisional accident relief machinery which will be very handy in monitoring the relief and rescue operation at the accident location by high level officers at different levels.

Senior Divisional Safety Officer K. Ravi Kumar, Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer E. Srinivas, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer B. Kasiviswanathan, Divisional Medical Officer Dr. S.T. Harish, Asst. Divisional Electrical Engineer D. Sagayamaniraj and Asst. Divisional Engineer Karibasappa were present during the drill.
