According to sources, the state government had to identify 50 hectare land for property development of the two phases of Jaipur Metro project
However, the government has failed to gear up the programme. By now only 26 hectare of land has been transferred that is only about 50 per cent of what is actually required

With 55 per cent of civil works completed, the Metro project for Mansarovar-Chandpole phase is struggling to meet its deadline in June, 2013. Meanwhile, the slow progress in property development works has added woes to the project.
According to sources, the state government had to identify 50 hectare land for the property development for the two phases of Jaipur Metro project (Mansarovar to Chandpole and Sitapura to Ambabari).
The development programme was meant to transfer land to the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC). Thus, the land transferred under the programme could be used to develop properties along the Metro corridors and the generate revenue to finance the project in future.
However, the government has failed to gear up the programme. The insiders said that 26 hectare of land has been transferred that is only about 50 per cent of the target. According to the land acquisition cell of the corporation, nine properties have been transferred in the account of JMRC.
The JMRC officials reasoned the non-availability of land for the programme. "The government had to identify the land for the programme. But, the suitable lands are not being identified and therefore the programme has availed only 50 per cent of land so far," said a source with the corporation.
However, he also added that the government will soon hand over the rest of the properties to achieve the target of 50 hectare land as per the detailed project report (DPR).
JMRC struggles to complete project in time as only 55% civil works accomplished by now
