Title - Mazdoor union stages protest for restructuring railway manpower

Southern Railway Mazdoor Union (SRMU) staged a demonstration demanding cadre restructuring in all categories.The demonstration was led by its working committee member V. Ramkumar. Addressing the protestors, divisional secretary J.M. Rafi demanded eight-hour duty for gate keepers, and bonus for railway employees without ceiling.Goods trains were delayed for want of crew as Madurai Division was facing acute shortage of running staff.Vacancies must also be filled up instead of putting undue pressure on the running staff.
