The Railway police on Thursday seized four country-made revolvers and a pistol from a man at Bhopal railway station.Addressing mediapersons on Friday, Superintendent of Police (Railways) RS Khare said that during routine checking, a man was arrested with four revolvers and a pistol.The accused Ram Adivasi (45) was on his way to Mathura when he was nabbed by vigil and alert GRP Bhopal cops on Thursday. The police arrested Ram Singh when he was waiting for train to Mathura where he was going to sell the weapons.The police have confirmed that the accused was also nabbed earlier in the year 2004 with 10 revolvers and six country made pistols from Itarsi station. The accused is involved in the illegal weapon dealing for the last 10-12 years.Ram Singh is a resident of Khargone and used to deal with illegal manufacturers of weapons. He was paid Rs 1500 per trip and trip details were disclosed only on the day of departure.On Wednesday, the weapons were to be taken for sale to Mathura and the buyers were kept secret until he reached the destination.Khare told that Superintendent of Police of Khargone Ruchika Jain Jindal has been informed regarding the matter and subsequently a team from GRP Bhopal will be sent for investigation. During the interrogation, the accused had disclosed the details of the illegal weapon trader's location at Kahrgone. |
