A major repair work to be taken up by South Eastern Railway is all set to pour cold water on vacation plans of thousands of railway users.South Eastern Railway has taken 58 hours Traffic and Power Block on up line between Jaleswar and Amarda Road stations in Kharagpur-Bhadrak section of Kharagpur Division 5 am on Friday 3 pm on Sunday for replacement of under slung early steel girder.As a result, some of the trains running in Howrah-Chennai main line would be cancelled, short-terminated and diverted during this weekend.Major trains which will be cancelled include Howrah- Bhubaneswar Jan Satabdi Express, Kharagpur-Khurda Road-Kharagpur passenger, Puri-Howrah-Puri Duronto Express, Visakhapatnam-Digha weekly express and Puri-Howrah weekly Express between Friday and Sunday.Similarly, Howrah-Satya Sai Prashanti Nilayam Express leaving Howrah on May 23 and Satya Sai Prashanti Nilayam-Howrah Express leaving Satya Sai Prashanti Nilayam on May 25 stand cancelled.Shalimar-Secunderabad weekly Express leaving Shalimar and Secunderabad-Shalimar weekly express leaving Secunderabad on May 27 will be cancelled.Jajpur Keonjhar Road-Kharagpur passenger will be short terminated at Balasore and will return back as Kharagpur- Jajpur Keonjhar Road passenger from Balasore to Jajpur Keonjhar Road on May 25 and 26. It will be cancelled between Balasore and Kharagpur from both the direction. |
