Railway started special trains in Diwali to clear the extra rush and to provide passengers a suitable option to travel between important stations hassle free. These trains were scheduled to run for a small period of time but overwhelming response from passengers made railways to extend run of most of the trains. However, due to extra run there is disruption in time table that leads to chaos in rail traffic. These trains now run late and never follow the scheduled time. In Pune passengers were left to wait for entire night on platform when two trains were rescheduled by the railway administration. Pune – Santragachi Express and Pune – Bhuj Express were rescheduled for five to six hours behind the scheduled time. Varanasi and Jammutawi bound trains are worst hit as they are rescheduled for a whopping 24hrs and 36hrs behind the scheduled time. To make things worst there the rescheduled time also is not a guarantee that train will depart on that time. Rail administration continuously change the timings leaving passengers frustrated. Passengers opt these trains only when they are left with no other choice to travel between the stations. Since these trains run on demand basis therefore railway does not keep alternative rakes for these trains. This leads to continuous delays as there is only one train that travels between the stations. One will arrive, it is then only other will depart. |
