The Railway police have arrested two speech-impaired men on charges of robbing lonely women at the Bangalore City Railway Station.The police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.5 lakh, 14 mobile phones, six ladies' wristwatches and Rs. 14,000 in cash from them.The arrested were Gopal (26) of Howrah in West Bengal and Uday (26) of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.The duo used to target lonely women passengers at the railway station during the night and early hours of the morning and rob them of their valuables, the police said. “Gopal is very good at writing English. He provided, in writing, the details of the crimes they had committed and the places where they had kept/pledged the valuables. After committing a robbery, the duo would go to Goa or Kanyakumari on a trip,” a police official said. |
