Title - LINE BLOCK / POWER BLOCK

Due to line block / power block, to facilitate engineering works at Karunguzhi in Chengalpattu – Tindivanam section, the following changes will be made in train services from 06.09.2013 to 08.09.2013.

On 06.09.2013 & 07.09.2013

1)T.No.12636 Madurai – Chennai Egmore Vaigai Express, scheduled to arrive at Chennai Egmore at 14.40 hrs., will be regulated at Madurantakam and will arrive at Chennai Egmore late by 120 minutes.

2)T.No.12635 Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vaigai Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 13.20 hrs. will be regulated at Chengalpattu and will arrive at Villupuram late by 50 minutes.

3)T.No.12605 Chennai Egmore – Karaikkudi Pallavan Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 15.45 hrs. will be rescheduled to leave Chennai Egmore late by 90 minutes. 

4)T.No.66043/63044 Chennai Beach – Melmaruvathur – Chennai Beach (MEMU) passenger trains will be partially cancelled between Chengalpattu – Melmaruvathur.

5)T.No.66045/66046 Melmaruvathur – Villupuram – Melmaruvathur (MEMU) passenger trains will be fully cancelled.

6)T.No.16854 Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Cholan Express scheduled to arrive at Chennai Egmore at 17.50 hrs. will be regulated at Madurantakam and will arrive at Chennai Egmore late by 60 minutes.

II.LINE BLOCK / POWER BLOCK


            Due to line block in connection with engineering works between Villivakkam – Ambattur, the following changes will be made in train services from 06.09.2013 to 08.09.2013.


(A) Trains fully cancelled:

1)Train No.43001 Mooremarket Complex (MMC) - Avadi EMU local scheduled to leave MMC at 00.15 hrs.

2)Train No.43002 Avadi - Mooremaket Complex (MMC) EMU local scheduled to leave Avadi at 04.00 hrs.

(B) Train rescheduled:

            Train No.43801 Chennai Beach – Arakkonam EMU local scheduled to leave

            Chennai Beach at 21.45 hrs. will leave late by 60 minutes.


III.                                SPECIAL DRIVE AGAINT TICKETLESS TRAVEL

A special drive against ticketless travel was organised from 05.00 hrs. to 11.00 hrs. o­n 04.09.2013 at Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Perambur, Tiruvallur and Tambaram under the leadership of Ms.Sarla Balagopal, Chief Commercial Manager of Southern Railway, who was assisted by a team of five Commercial Officers. Around 300 staff belonging to the Chief Commercial Manager’s Squad, as well as that of Chennai, Tiruchchirappalli and Madurai divisions, were utilised for this check along with 50 RPF personnel.

            The objective of the drive was to create an awareness among the passengers to travel with proper travel authority. This drive which was conducted for a short span of just 6 hours, has resulted in the detection of a total of 1737 cases of ticketless/irregular travel and realisation of railway dues to the tune of Rs.5,83,236/-. Of this, the number of cases of ticketless travel alone was 1297, o­n which an amount of Rs.4,27,922 /- was realised.
