Last week Bengaluru Railway Division removed the last unmanned crossing gate in Bengaluru and Dharmavaram section. The 177.5kms stretch is said to be one of the busiest single line track in the division. During 2016 – 17 financial year as many as 53 level crossings were removes from which 12 were unmanned. To remove all the crossing, railway built over and bridges throughout this section. According to railway officials, on an average 60 trains pass through this section every day which includes 23 pair of passenger trains besides seven pair of goods trains. Long-distance trains bound to Northern, Western and Central India pass through this section including the Rajdhani Express, Duronto Express, Garib Rath and Karnataka Express. |
