The business model for the proposed wagon manufacturing factory in PPP mode in Guwahati has been finalised and government approval is being sought for leasing of Railway land to the private partner, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.Work on setting up of wagon manufacturing factory there was sanctioned in 2010-11 at a cost of about Rs 1.88 crore in Public-Private Partnership mode, Minister of State for Railways Bharatsinh Solanki said during the Question Hour."Land for the factory has been identified and the business model has been finalised. Government approval for leasing of Railway land to the private partner is being sought," he said.Regarding a railway bridge on the river Brahmaputra, Solanki said the work would be completed by 2015. He said 522 hospitals and diagnostics centres were proposed to be set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on surplus Railway land."A high power working group consisting of senior officials from both the ministries have identified 91 healthcare infrastructure for a pilot project," he said, adding the Health Ministry is in the process of implementing this project on a pilot basis at 11 locations to test the model. |
