Title - Konkan Railways took various initiatives to improve passenger comfort

Konkan Railway has taken various initiatives for the upliftment of Konkan Region. By improving and providing more passenger amenities as well as customer oriented services for freight users Konkan railway has made journey more comfortable.

To boost the development of Konkan region Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Railways has inaugurated following services -

• New Halt Station at Saundal between Vilavade – Rajapur Road Station
• Goods siding at Thokur Station
• Commissioning of four India post Passenger Reservation System (PRS) at Lanja, Ratnagiri, Sangameshwar and Khed.
• Integrated - Control Office Application (COA) system – Konkan Railways implemented COA by seamlessly integrating with the existing Operations and Train Control Module where Train timings captured at Stations are updated on a real-time basis and Controllers can monitor and manage the running of trains.
