Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala has sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s intervention in securing the Union government’s clearance for the Kochi Metro Rail project.In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr. Chennithala said the lack of sufficient infrastructure had adversely affected the State’s development initiatives.He wanted the Centre to give top priority to Kochi Metro, which would change the face of Kochi city.The project proposal was likely to come up for the Union Cabinet’s consideration. He urged the Prime Minister to adopt a favourable attitude in the matter of issuing early sanction. |
