Jaipur Metro train to start trial run by September 15

Jaipur: The trial run of Jaipur metro train will begin here by September 15 next month. This will coincide with the laying of the foundation stone for the phase I-B work between the Chandpol and Badi Chauper that comprises of underground work.

 

This was announced at a news conference addressed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Urban Development and Local Self Government Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal at the upcoming Metro Station in Chandpol area here on Sunday evening.

 

Dhariwal said that the trial run and the foundation stone would be laid in a ceremonial manner at a big public meeting.

 

Expressing satisfaction over the speedy completion of the work on the mega project almost as per the targeted schedule, Chief Minister Gehlot said that Jaipur Metro project had been coming up in a most ideal manner and the precision and speed with which the DMRC and JMRC teams had working on the project, ensuring all measures for safety and security of the people, deserved full praise.

 

He said, “The first phase from Mansarovar to Chandpol and then to Badi Chauper involved an investment of Rs 3,139 crore of which Rs 630 crore had recently been sanctioned by the Centre, around Rs 900 crore were being raised by loans/financing and about Rs 1,500 were being incurred by the state government.”

 

“The next phase of the project from Sitapura-Sanganer to Ajmeri Gate would also been taken up in soon,” Gehlot said further.

 

The Chief Minister accompanied by Mr Dhariwal, Chief Secretary CK Mathew, Additional Chief Secretary(Urban Development) G S Sandhu, Jaipur Metro CMD NC Goyal, JDA Commissioner Abhay Kumar and Jaipur Collector T Ravikant visited the project sites at the Mansarovar Metro station, and Chandpol station on Sunday evening.

 

They also took a bird’s eye view of the project from the roof top of an adjacent mall. The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress of the works. (Agency)
