Title - IRCTC partners private food delivery services to provide quality food to passengers

Shree Mahalakshmi Swayam Sahayata Bachat Ghat (Ratnagiri) and TRAPIGO has joined hands with IRCTC to provide food on trains. The idea is to provide regional and local cuisines to passengers on trains.

TRAPIGO is a last mile ‘B2B’ logistics service provider for food products. With help of their own network and delivery boys, TRAPIGO ensures that quality of food delivered to customers. However to avail the services of TRAPIGO, a passenger has to order food through ‘Food-on-track’ app or IRCTC’s e-catering website http://www.ecatering.irctc.co.in. Once the order is received food will delivered by TRAPIGO with co-branded tapes, stickers etc. at a nominal fee of Rs. 15.

IRCTC has partnered TRAPIGO on pilot basis in Nagpur, however it plans to expand the service to other cities like Bhopal, Itarsi, Jhansi and New Delhi soon.

Shree Mahalakshmi Swayam Sahayata Bachat Ghat, a self-help group (SHG) empanelled with the IRCTC under the e-catering project at Ratnagiri, famous for its export-quality Alphonso mangoes, has shown interest in selling fresh and naturally ripened organic mangoes to the passengers.
