With an aim to cater to the growing number of outbound tourists, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with its first international package for Dubai in August 2012. IRCTC, a PSU of Indian Railways, is already involved in organising domestic tour packages in the country.

According to a report in the Daily Pioneer, the package departs from Bhopal on 21st August 2012 and arrives back at Bhopal on 26th August 2012. Tourists starting from Bhopal by train, in a chartered 2AC coach, reach Mumbai the next day for their onward flight to Dubai. They will be transferred to the airport by coach. With the Economy class air travel they will reach Dubai in the afternoon.

“In between the 3 nights and 4 days stay at Dubai, the tourists will enjoy an evening visit to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building (2723 ft with 163 floors) in the world; a half-day Dubai City tour; a romantic Dhow Cruise down the Dubai creek through fascinating lights and lilting music while enjoying a sumptuous dinner. A  desert safari is also thrown in, amongst the other attractions, along with a barbeque dinner,” Pradip Kundu, Joint General Manager (PR), IRCTC said.

With its launching IRCTC will enter into the outbound tourism and hopes to conduct many such tours to other popular international tourist destinations in future, Kundu said.
