Title - Intensive Ticket Checking Drive by Northern Railway

Intensive Ticket Checking Drive for one month has been launched by Northern Railway. The  focus of the drive is on ticketless travel in unreserved segments in vulnerable sections and trains where significant drop in passenger traffic and window sale has been noticed. 
Mail /express trains, passenger trains and EMU/DEMU at enroute stopping stations are being subjected to intensive checks by deploying adequate number of Ticket Checking staff and RPF staff along with Officers. 
As a result of the drive during  the period from 19 May to 28 May, total 71609 cases of passengers travelling without ticket/irregular tickets were detected and an amount of Rs 3.52 crores was realized. This included 17706 passengers travelling without ticket from which an amount of Rs. 1.08 crores  was realized and 52903 passengers travelling with irregular/improper tickets from which an amount of Rs. 2.44 crores was realized. 
Total 2992 Ticket checking staff and 140 RPF staff personnel were deployed during check.
