Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) will develop an integrated industrial township at Dadri-NOIDA-Ghaziabad area in the state. UPSIDC will develop the township through the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) being formed with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor(DMIC), Greater NOIDA authority and Bulandshahar-Khurja development board. The development corporation has also decided to levy a metro cess of Rs. 5,000 per square metre on the sale of land in industrial areas in and around Ghaziabad to fund the extension of metro rail line from Dilshad Garden New Delhi to New Bus Station in Ghaziabad. UPSIDC board of directors approved a proposal in this regard at its meeting that Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) chaired on Friday.The corporation board also approved another proposal to convert into freehold the housing land (barring industrial land) available with the UPSIDC.IIDC said a housing policy for the development authorities would be formulated in this regard. He said the proposal involved major policy issues and hence it would be taken to the state cabinet for approval. About the DMIC project, IIDC said that different agencies of the state government would have 51% equity in the project.The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Development Corporation Limited (DMIDCL) would have 49% equity in the new hi-tech industrial township, he said. UPSIDC managing director Manoj Singh said the UPSIDC would have equity in the form of 2000 acres of land that was being acquired in Chola, Ghaziabad. “We are exploring the possibility of a project on the lines of DMIC on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor to spur industrial development along this corridor,” said Gupta. It maybe mentioned that out of total length of 1890 km of eastern freight corridor project, around 1100 km falls in the state. Out of 14 feeder routes to be developed under the Eastern Freight Corridor five-feeder routes of 700 km length will be developed in the state. Meanwhile, senior UPSIDC officials have been asked to pull up their socks and perform, in addition to maintaining UPSIDC’s industrial estates within a month. |
