Title - Indore – Tihi rail line to become operational from Februrary

Ratlam Division of Western Railway confirmed that the new rail line between Indore and Tihi will be made operational for goods train in February.

The new line will serve the purpose of goods operation and trains carrying containers to industries in Pithampur. Through this new rail line the distance between Mumbai and Indore will be reduced to 200km which can be very beneficial for industries in Pithampur. Also the direct delivery of containers will save money as well as time.

Currently there is no direct connectivity therefore goods are brought to Ratlam first and then transferred to other destinations via trains. Freight exporters of Pithampur have always struggled due to poor connectivity of the area. On an average, 280 containers are transported to Ratlam everyday by truck. Industries would save a huge amount of revenue with the rail connectivity.
