Stations with high tourist footfall will get “Tourist Help Desk.” Indian Railways has decided to set help desk at 24 stations initially where high number of tourists arrive daily. In order to protect them from touts railway will set up trained Railway Protection Force personnel on those help desks. Agra, Thiruvanantpuram, Gaya, Bareli and Amritsar will get help desk in first phase itself while stations like Haridwar, Ayodhya, Allahabad, Dwarka, Howrah, Kamakhya, Tirupati and Varanasi will be taken up in next phase. Such help desk will ensure hassle free travelling experience for tourists with presence of RPF personnel round the clock. The passengers can get assistance regarding stay at hotels, transportation etc. Apart from the stations mentioned above, all other major stations will also get help desk for tourists. |
