A chanceless double-hundred by Cheteshwar Pujara and his 288-run stand for the second-wicket with Ajinkya Rahane enabled Indian Oil to declare their innings at 449 for six against Western Railway 'B' on the second day of their three-day Times Shield Division 'A' league match at the Western Railway ground on Tuesday. In response, the hosts were left tottering on 88 for 4 with Mumbai swing bowler Balwinder Singh Sandhu Jr making early inroads ending the day with figures of 3/31. The only solace for Western Railway was a solid knock of 43 by Bhargav Meral, and thankfully for his team, he remained unbeaten at stumps. The spotlight just like on the opening day though remained fixated on India No.3 Pujara, as he slammed 21 fours and two sixes in his double-ton that came off 425 balls. Mumbai boy Rahane was in no hurry either, taking 291 balls for his 124, which included 13 fours. |
