जबलपुर. पश्चिम मध्य रेल प्रशासन ने रेल कर्मचारियों के बच्चों को केन्द्रीय कर्मचारी हित निधि से वर्ष 2013-14 के लिए स्कालरशिप/आर्थिक सहायता/नगद पुरस्कार देने की सूचना जारी कर दी है. इस संबंध में मुखय जान संपर्क अधिकारी पीयूष माथूर ने बताया कि स्कालरशिप/आर्थिक सहायता/नगद पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने हेतु रेल कर्मचारियों को निर्धारित आवेदन 31 दिसम्बर तक जमा किया जाना है. स्कालरशिप रेल प्रशासन के द्वारा तकनीकी शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देने हेतु रेल कर्मचारियो के बच्चों और आश्रित भाई/बहन जो न्यूनतम 4 वर्ष का डिग्री कोर्स या न्यूनतम 3 वर्ष का डिप्लोमा कोर्स कर रहे हैं. उन्हें रु. 5000/- और रु. 3000/- संभावित राषि स्कालरशिप के रूप में केन्द्रीय कर्मचारी हित निधि से प्रदान की जाएगी. तकनीकी शिक्षा में वार्षिक छात्रवृति प्रदान करने के लिए समूह घ के कर्मचारियों का 5 प्रतिशत एवं अनुसूचित जाति के कर्मचारियों हेतु 15 प्रतिशत एवं अनुसूचित जनजाति हेतु 7.5 प्रतिशत आरक्षित किया गया है. रेल प्रशासन द्वारा रेल कर्मचारियों के मेघावी छात्रों को प्रोत्साहित करने हेतु, ऐसे बच्चे जो स्नातक पाठ्यक्रम की अंतिम परीक्षा में प्रथम प्रयास में ही 60 प्रतिषत अंक के साथ उत्तीर्ण हो जाते हैं, उन्हें रु. 2000/- का नगद पुरस्कार भी दिया जाएगा।. नगद पुरस्कार मेरिट तथा फण्ड की उपलब्धता के आधार पर दिया जाता है. रेल प्रशासन के द्वारा रेल कर्मचारियों के अंधे/मानसिक रूप से रोगी एवं बीमारी जिसमे पोलियो/लकवाग्रस्त बच्चों को भी पंजीकृत मेडिकल प्रेक्टिषनर, रेलवे डाक्टर के प्रमाण पत्र के आधार पर प्रति बच्चा रु. 2000/- वार्षिक अनुदान दिया जाता है.

उत्तर रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक वी.के. गुप्ता ने बुधवार शाम पुरानी दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन का औचक निरीक्षण किया। निरीक्षण के दौरान उन्होंने स्टेशन की सफाई व्यवस्था पर नाखुशी जाहिर की और इसे दुरुस्त करने का निर्देश अधिकारियों को दिया।
महाप्रबंधक ने लगभग चार घंटे तक स्टेशन के विभिन्न विभागों और यात्री सुविधाओं का निरीक्षण किया। यात्रियों को मालूम चला कि महाप्रबंधक निरीक्षण कर रहे हैं तो वे अपनी शिकायतें लेकर उनके पास पहुंच गए। उधर स्टेशन अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों में भी हड़कंप मच गया। महाप्रबंधक ने प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर दस पर चल रहे निर्माण कार्य का भी निरीक्षण किया। इसके बाद प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर 16 पर पहुंचे, जहां की सफाई व्यवस्था समेत अन्य प्रबंधों से वे असंतुष्ट दिखे। इन्हें दुरुस्त करने का निर्देश अपने मातहतों को दिया। वे रेलवे स्टेशन मास्टर कार्यालय तथा बुकिंग कार्यालय भी गए। इसके बाद चीफ स्टेशन मास्टर के दफ्तर पहुंचे। इसी बीच रेवाड़ी और शामली जाने वाले यात्रियों को इस बारे में जानकारी मिली तो वे भी वहां पहुंच गए। प्रबंधक से उन्होंने बताया कि उनकी ट्रेन अक्सर देर हो जाती है। गाड़ी का प्लेटफॉर्म भी बदल दिया जाता है। ऐसे में उन्हें परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ता है।

Issues like acquisition of lands and cut in financial allocation have affected development and infrastructure related works of the Railways, said General Manager of Southern Railway Rakesh Misra on Tuesday.He was here to inspect the Signal and Telecommunications Workshop at Podanur.Mr. Misra told The Hindu that the allocation of funds had come down from Rs. 1,100 last year to Rs. 560 crore in the current fiscal and this had a telling effect on the pace of various works being undertaken by the Railways. The increase in diesel and electricity charges also affected the financial stability of the Railways, he added.Kerala accounted for the maximum number of issues concerning land acquisition while it was relatively less in Tamil Nadu. Issues always cropped up when the lands identified for acquisition were wet/agricultural lands, he added.Mr.Misra was accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager, Salem, Sujatha Jeyaraj. He said land acquisition issues as far as the Podanur - Pollachi gauge conversion stretch had been overcome and now the wait was for funds. “I have personally appealed to the Railway Board to sanction funds to complete the Podanur – Pollachi gauge conversion at the earliest in order to restore the rail connectivity of Western Tamil Nadu with the Southern districts,” Mr. Misra said.

Southern Railway was confident of completing the Pollachi – Palakkad gauge conversion by March 2014. Mr. Misra added that the Palani – Pollachi gauge conversion was in its final stages. The route was likely to be opened by 2014, after Commissioner of Rail Safety’s (CRS) inspection. Referring to safety, Mr. Misra said the objective of the Southern Railway was to eliminate 800 unmanned level crossings in a phased manner.

650 Parasuram Express between Nagercoil and Mangalore will stop at Paravur station from October 1 to June 30, 2014, on an experimental basis. New Delhi: The Urban Development ministry has asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to consider extending the airport metro corridor to IFFCO chowk in Gurgaon so that the ridership as well as property development revenue of the line can be boosted.

The DMRC had moved a proposal seeking grant or equity from central and Delhi governments for the airport metro line after taking charge from private company Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) but the Ministry said that it should be the last resort and asked DMRC explore ways to raise funds and turn profitable.

Among the possible measures it suggested was extension of the line to Gurgaon’s Sector 29, which had earlier been floated when DAMEPL was incharge.

After DAMEPL pulled out, the DMRC began operating the service but issues related to the estimated Rs 2,000 crore airport metro line debt remains unresolved and the day to day running of trains on the route is also reported to be a loss making venture, sources said.

“The ministry has told the DMRC that the option of seeking grant or equity from the government should be considered only as the last resort. It has asked the Delhi Metro to look for other ways raise money and also see if the airport line can turn profitable if extended to Gurgaon,” a source said.

Proposal to extend airport metro to IFFCO Chowk, Gurgaon:

The sources said that a proposal to extend the Airport metro line to IFFCO chowk was floated in the past but there were issues regarding how additional concession could be given to a private concessionaire.

“The ministry has suggested that in the changed scenario, where the DMRC itself is operating the Airport metro line, it can be extended to the IFFCO chowk, which may result in a sharp jum in ridership as well as property development revenue,” the source said.

The ministry has also told the Delhi metro that it should try and make the line viable by exploring other option. They said that in a letter the ministry has also told DMRC that to meet the cash requirements for the airport line, it should tap its internal resources or financial markets or institutions.

Being a government owned company with an excellent track record, the DMRC might be able to raise a loan at a cheaper rate than the private company that was earlier operating the line, the ministry has opined.

The ministry has also suggested that the DMRC should explore the possibility of raising money for the airport line through bonds as has been done by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).

महाप्रबंधक सहित अन्य विभागाध्यक्ष व संबंधित वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने यार्ड का निरीक्षण किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने कार्य प्रगति की समीक्षा की। हेल्पलाइन नंबरों की जांच के बाद जीएम ने साथ चल रहे अधिकारियों व कर्मियों को आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश दिए। पश्चिमी केबिन के पास रेल लाइन पर चल रहे कार्य का निरीक्षण करने के बाद अधिकारियों ने सेंट्रलाइज सिस्टम 'रूट रिले रूम' का भी परीक्षण किया। उन्होंने कार्य की गतिविधियों का जायजा लिया।

South Central Railway Chief Mechanical Engineer, P.C. Gajbhiye declared open the 23rd All-India RPF Athletic Duty Meet-2013 on Wednesday. The Athletic Meet is being organized by Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisions of SCR at Railway Sports Complex Grounds, Secunderabad from September 25 to 27. In all, 201 athletes from 14 Railways / RPSF camps will participate in the meet.

Passengers travelling to destinations beyond Tiruchi in the Coimbatore – Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdhi Express were taken by surprise on Wednesday morning when the train was terminated at Tiruchi Junction owing to “line block” for carrying out track relaying work between Tiruchi and Thanjavur.The express train arrived at Tiruchi Junction at around 10.50 a.m. and was terminated at the station taking the passengers by surprise.A group of passengers assembled in front of the station manager’s room demanding that alternative arrangements be made for them for their onward journey.Railway sources said refund was given to passengers in the portion from Tiruchi to stations beyond.The passengers later left by buses arranged by the railways.However, the passengers had to pay for their bus ride.Southern Railway had extended the ‘line block’ for track relaying work between Tiruchi and Thanjavur, enforced on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from June 25 to October 2. Consequently, some trains were cancelled while some others were partially cancelled.The Coimbatore – Mayiladuthurai – Coimbatore Jan Shatabdhi expresses was one of the trains partially cancelled on September 25 and October 2 as per a railway release issued a few days ago.
