: सूबे की औद्योगिक राजधानी बेगूसराय का जिला मुख्यालय स्थित रेलवे स्टेशन उपेक्षा का शिकार है। यहां राजधानी एक्सप्रेस जैसी ट्रेन तो रुकती है। परंतु, दस जोड़ी वीआईपी ट्रेनों का स्टापेज यहां नहीं है।
स्थानीय जनप्रतिनिधियों की उदासीनता के कारण बेगूसराय रेलवे स्टेशन उपेक्षाओं का दंश झेलने को मजबूर है। जिसके कारण जिलावासियों में काफी नाराजगी देखी जा रही है।
जानकारी के अनुसार 15227/28 यशवंतपुर एक्सप्रेस, 15715/16 गरीबनवाज एक्सप्रेस, 15635/ 36 ओखा-गोहाटी द्वारिकाधाम एक्सप्रेस, 15631/32 बीकानेर-गोहाटी, 15903/04 गोहाटी- नई दिल्ली राजधानी एक्सप्रेस, 15621/22, कामख्या-आनंदविहार, 15623/24 कामख्या-जोधपुर, 12501/02 पूर्वोत्तर संपर्क क्रांति गोहाटी-नई दिल्ली सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस आदि ट्रेनें बेगूसराय स्टेशन से थ्रू गुजर जाती हैं, परंतु यहां रुकती नहीं है।

''एक दिन पूर्व भी मैंने केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री से उपरोक्त ट्रेनों के स्टापेज के संबंध में बात की थी। रेल मंत्री ने लिखित मांगा था, जिसे मैंने आज भेज दिया है। बेगूसराय जिला में रेलवे से जुड़ी दूसरी समस्याओं को भी पत्र में शामिल किया गया है।''

'' बेगूसराय रेलवे स्टेशन की समस्याओं के निदान हेतु कार्य प्रगति पर है, जहां तक स्टापेज की बात है तो वह डिमांड पर निर्भर करता है। जिन ट्रेनों के स्टापेज को बजट में शामिल किया गया है, उसका स्टापेज जल्द सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा।''

An indefinite strike launched on Sunday by electricity employees of Rayalaseema and the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh hit power supply in six districts of the state and also forced the railways to cancel train services.

Hundreds of villages in six coastal Andhra districts plunged into darkness as the electricity employees went on an indefinite strike to protest the Centre's decision to create a separate Telangana state.

Seemandhra electricity employees' Joint Action Committee (JAC) said over 30,000 electricity employees were participating in the strike in Seemandhra, as Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions are collectively known.

The indefinite strike began after an earlier 48-hour-long strike ended on Sunday to protest the union Cabinet's decision to bifurcate the state.

The strike has hit power generation in a couple of major plants in coastal Andhra. The South Central Railway (SCR) on Sunday cancelled seven passenger trains between Vijayawada and Renigunta. The cancelled train services include Vijayawada-Ongole, Guduru-Ongole, Tenali-Guntur and Tirupati-Guduru.

JAC chairman R Sai Baba announced that there would be no exemption to emergency services like hospital, water supply and agriculture.

ನವದೆಹಲಿ, ಅ.5: ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಹಿಂದಷ್ಟೇ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ದರ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ಇದೇ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ಎರಡನೆಯ ವಾರದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ದರವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಶೇ. 2-3ರಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ, ಅ. 10ರಿಂದ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಸರಕು ಸಾಗಣೆ ದರವನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಮುಂಗಡಪತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಇಂಧನ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆ (ಎಫ್ ಎಸಿ) ನೀತಿಯನ್ವಯ ಟಿಕೆಟ್‌ ದರ ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂಧನ ದರ ಏರಿಕೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 1,200 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ ಹೊರೆ ಭರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದನ್ನ ಸರಿದೂಗಿಸಲು ಪ್ರತಿ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೊಮ್ಮೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ದರ ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಜತೆಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ನಾನ್ ಗೆಜೆಟೆಡ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ಬೋನಸ್ ವಿತರಿಸಿರುವುದೂ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ದರ ಏರಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ದರ ಏರಿಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟೆಷ್ಟು ?

        The following Passenger trains running o­n Vijayawada-Gudur-Renigunta sections are cancelled today i.e., 6th Oct, 2013, with a view to handle any situation arising out of possible break in power supply to Railways.

1)Train No. 67263 Vijayawada-Ongole Passenger departing Vijayawada at 08 00 hrs
2)Train No. 67257 o­ngole-Tenali Passenger departing o­ngole at 12 35 hrs
3)Train No. 67258 Tenali-Guntur departing Tenali at 16 30 hrs
4)Train No. 67260 o­ngole-Vijayawada departing o­ngole at 14 35 hrs
5)Train No. 67280 o­ngole-Gudur departing o­ngole at 09 40 hrs

Jaipur: The festival of Diwali is not far and the Railways already thought of gifting the people ahead of the festival by running three special trains on route from Jaipur to Asansol. The addition of these trains have not only saved commuters from waiting for long hours in the queue but also provided relief. The trains would ply from Asansol to Jaipur and back to Asansol on a weekly basis. There are weekly trains from Ahmedabad to Jaipur and back to Ahmedabad. Another train would be seen on the tracks of Ahmedabad to Lucknow and back to Ahmedabad on a weekly basis.

The train from Jaipur to Asansol was flagged off on Saturday at eight in the morning.

As per information released by the Ministry of Railways, the train from Jaipur to Asansol was flagged off on October 5 will continue to ply on an weekly basis till November 30. The train would start from Jaipur at 8 am on every Saturday and would reach Asansol the next day at 9.25 am. The train from Asansol to Jaipur would start on Friday at 9 am from Asansol and reach Jaipur at 6.30 am. The schedule will be followed till November 29.

The train would stop at Dhanbad, Koderma, Gaya, Dehri on Sone, Sasaram, Mughalsarai, Allahabad, Kanpur, Tundla, Agra Fort, Bandikui, Dausa, and Gandhi Nagar stations.

The timings of the Ahmedabad-Jaipur-Ahmedabad weekly trains are a special train from Ahmedabad to Jaipur from October 18 to November 29 with the train starting from Ahmedabad, every Friday, at 4.30 pm and reach Jaipur on the next day at 6.35 am. The train from Jaipur would start from October 19 at 8 am and reach Ahmedabad at 7.35 pm the next day. This schedule is expected to continue till November 30. The train would cross Sabarmati, Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Sirohi Road, Falna, Rani, Marwad junction, Byavar, Ajmer, Kishangarh, and Fulehra stations.

The special train that would ply on Ahmedabad-Lucknow-Ahmedabad route would be scheduled from October 14 to November 25 as: Special weekly train would start from Ahmedabad on every Monday at 11.35 am and reach the next day at Jaipur at 11.20 am, at Lucknow at 2.30 pm. The train from Lucknow to Ahmedabad would be scheduled on a weekly basis from October 16 to November 27 with train from Lucknow starting at 2.30 pm and reaching Jaipur at 6.35 pm, and on Thursday to Ahmedabad at 7.15 pm. This train would stop at Sabarmati, Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Falna, Marwar Junction, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Gandhi Nagar, Dausa, Bandikui, Bharatpur, Achnera, Mathura Junction, Mathura Chhavni, Haathras city, Kaasganj, Gunjdudwada, Farukkabad, Kanauj, Kanpur, and Anwarganj stations.

This is the second such incident reported in the Palakkad railway division after another passenger suffered a serious head injury in a similar attack near Madhukara  last week. The officials, however, are finding it difficult  to work out a strategy to curb the menace due to  the shortage of security staff. 

There are only 276 Railway Protection Force personnel for security duty in the division having 578 route kilometre area spread over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Similarly, the number of policemen deputed by the Kerala police to manage the six railway police stations from Thrissur to Kasargod is also insufficient with just 250-odd men to manage six railway police stations under it.

Of the total police staff, 40 per cent of the staff are often given other duties, making available only 50 per cent of them  for security duty at the stations and on trains,’’  pointed out a senior railway official in Palakkad.

According to him, the shortfall of security officials began with bifurcation of Palakkad divion a few years back when a  number of the RPF personnel were shifted to the Salem division while Palakkad is yet to be compensated for this loss.

While the rules provide for at least four RPF personnel, including women officers, on patrol duty in each of the trains, we have limited this service to the major trains running night-time,’’  he added.
