भोपाल। जेल में बंद आसाराम के समर्थकों ने उनकी रिहाई की मांग को लेकर गुरुवार शाम जमकर हंगामा किया। उन्होंने सुभाष नगर फाटक पर अमरकंटक एक्सप्रेस को रोक लिया। ट्रेन करीब आधा घंटा तक खड़ी रही। पुलिस ने प्रदर्शनकारियों को लाठियां भांजकर खदेड़ दिया। सरकारी संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचाने के आरोप में 10 महिलाओं समेत 19 लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया।
सुभाष नगर फाटक पर गुरुवार शाम 4 बजे जबरदस्त हंगामे के हालात बन गए। करीब सवा सौ आसाराम समर्थक ट्रेन रोकने पटरी पर बैठ गए। इससे पहले वे दो बसों में भरकर प्रभात पेट्रोल पंप पर पहुंचे। वहां से पैदल नारेबाजी करते हुए रेलवे फाटक पर आ गए। उन्होंने अमरकंटक एक्सप्रेस को रोक लिया। यह खबर मिलते ही एसपी अंशुमान सिंह पुलिस बल के साथ मौके पर पहुंचे। उन्होंने प्रदर्शनकारियों को समझाने की काफी कोशिश की, लेकिन बात नहीं बनी। इसके बाद पुलिस ने बल प्रयोग कर सभी को पटरी से खदेड़ दिया, जिससे कुछ लोगों को चोटें आई हैं।

जालौन, अंप्र. : क्षेत्र की जनता को अब रेल में आरक्षण कराने के लिए जिला मुख्यालय नहीं जाना पड़ेगा। इस माह के अंतिम सप्ताह तक उप डाकघर में रेलवे आरक्षण का काउंटर शुरू हो जाएगा।
भारतीय रेलवे की टीम के सदस्य टेक्नीकल इंजीनियर रविप्रकाश रेलवे, उप मंड निरीक्षक डाक राजीव तिवारी, सहायक अभियंता एसके शर्मा ने गुरुवार को उप डाकघर का निरीक्षण किया और डाकघर में रेलवे का आरक्षण काउंटर खोलने के लिए रणनीति तैयार की। तकनीकी विभाग की टीम ने डाक विभाग के अधिकारियों के साथ डाकघर का निरीक्षण करते हुए कहां कौन सी मशीन लगेगी, गाड़ियों की सूची, किराया सूची, उपभोक्ता कहां खड़ा होगा, कहां काउंटर लगेगा आदि बिंदुओं पर चर्चा की गयी। टीम के सदस्यों ने बताया कि उम्मीद है कि इस माह के अंतिम सप्ताह में उप डाकघर में रेल आरक्षण की सुविधा उपलब्ध हो जायेगी। जिससे क्षेत्र की जनता को मुख्यालय नहीं जाना पड़ेगा और इससे समय व पैसा दोनों की बचत होगी।

BHOPAL Twenty- three followers of self- styled godman Asaram Bapu, who is in Jodhpur jail in a sexual abuse case, stopped a train at Subhash Railway crossing on Thursday. Also, they disrupted railway traffic between Bhopal and Habibganj railway stations.Consequently, all of them were booked by the RPF. The demonstrators were kept in various police stations and they will be produced in the court tomorrow.Earlier, hundred of followers of Asaram disrupted railway traffic for about 40 minutes by stopping Amarkantak Express at Subhash railway crossing. When the railway guard informed the RPF personnel, they swung into action.The cops from Aishbag Police station also rushed to the spot to assist the RPF jawans. Some of the followers of Asaram, who boarded the train from Bhopal railway station, pulled the chain at the crossing. Then a mob of followers rushed towards the track with flags. According to RPF sources, the followers of Asaram had stopped the Amarkantak Express.Rapid Action Forces and Aish Bag police immediately swung into action and removed from tracks. RPF sources further said 23 followers were booked on the charge of disruption of railway traffic. A case has been registered against them. RPF commandant Vikay Khatarkar said, “ Some followers who boarded the train from the Bhopal railway station pulled the chain at the crossing. Then hundreds of people rushed towards the track but they were driven out.”

To expedite the construction of the dedicated freight corridor (DFC), Railways has undertaken steps to resolve issues involving bidding process in the Western wing of the project.The project is funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japanese government arm for providing technical and financial aid to developing countries and also DMRC's lending agency.There were certain issues involving the bidding for the 322-km-long Iqbalgarh-Vadodara route in the Western DFC which were discussed with JICA to expedite the project, Railway Board Chairman Arunendra Kumar said.Kumar had gone on a four-day visit to Japan to discuss modalities of JICA funding and other issues involved with the DFC project.Our aim is to maintain the tempo on the DFC and efforts are on to meet the target deadline, he said.The Western DFC from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust to Dadri covering a length of about 1,500 km is being funded by JICA, which has pledged a special terms for economic partnership loan of 677 billion yen for the entire corridor.According to loan conditionalities, the lead partner for any contract has to be from Japan and there will be a consortium with Indian companies to execute the job.Though Rs 6,700-crore contract for construction of 640-km twin-track line between Rewari and Palanpur of Western DFC was awarded to L&T-Sojitz, a joint venture comprising L&T of India and Sojitz Corporation of Japan, the bidding process hit roadblocks in the Iqbalgarh-Vododara section.The submission date of financial bids for the route has been extended thrice since July and it has to be submitted by September 30."However, it seems there will be a fourth extension up to October 30 as Japanese companies are seeking more time. But this will be the last extension," said a senior Railway Ministry official involved with the project.While the Western DFC is expected to be completed by December 2017, the target for the Eastern DFC is March 2018."Railways will buy 200 electric locomotives of 9000 horse power each from Japan for the DFC. The high-power locomotives will be bought from Japan as it is part of the loan agreement," said Kumar.He said the construction of DFC is crucial for Railways as it will move the freight traffic on faster pace which will help industry. "It will also help in decongesting the existing track as total freight traffic will be shifted to the DFC leaving more space for passenger trains," he said.

Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Limited (RTDC), has introduced an innovative experiment in the world-famous luxury train Palace on Wheels for tourists. A passport size diary is being provided to every travelling tourist on "Place on Wheels". The diary includes traveller's name and photo along with entire trip details (itinerary).

          The Managing Director of RTDC, Shri Vinod Ajmera informed  that the diary would be like a "memento’’ for the tourists travelling in luxury train. Smt. Sneha Bang played an important role to develop this idea of providing diary. Shri Ajmera said that the Mercury Design Company had made this diary like a passport. The R.T.D.C. was planning to include menu and other useful stuff in the diary in future, he added.

          Shri Ajmera also said that main purpose of this passport diary on "Palace on Wheels" was to give a special VVIP identity to the tourists. He said that RTDC was also planning to implement this diary service in super deluxe train ‘ROYAL RAJASTHAN ON WHEELS’, which would be rolled on from October 6, this year.  He said that R.T.D.C. was also planning to propose the tariff of the train in Indian currency so that these royal trains could attract more domestic tourists.

गोरखपुर। इलेक्ट्रिक ट्रेन से सफर करने में अभी और वक्त लगेगा। लखनऊ से गोरखपुर तक ट्रेन के चलने में कई बाधाएं हैं। बाराबंकी से गोंडा और सीवान से छपरा तक अभी रेलवे ट्रैक्शन का काम पूरा नहीं हो पाया है। जबकि अगस्त में इस रूट पर ट्रेन दौड़ाने का दावा रेल प्रशासन ने किया था। कार्य की प्रगति इतनी धीमी है कि गोरखपुर तक ट्रेन चलने में कम से कम साल भर का वक्त लगेगा। वहीं तीन बिजली के उपकेंद्र बनाए जाने हैं और रेलवे की ओर से कोई पहल ही नहीं की गई है।
बाराबंकी से छपरा तक कुल 424 किलोमीटर इलेक्ट्रिक लाइन बिछाने के लिए वर्ष 2008 में काम शुरू हुआ। मार्च 2012 तक इसे पूरा किया जाना था। मौजूदा हाल में कार्य की प्रगति धीमी है। गोंडा से गोरखपुर और सीवान के बीच अभी कई जगहों पर न बेस तैयार हो पाएं हैं और न ही पोल गाड़े गए हैं। वहीं गोरखपुर, संतकबीरनगर और बस्ती में पांच-पांच एमबीए के उपकेंद्र बनने हैं। रेलवे के प्रपोजल को पूर्वांचल विद्युत वितरण निगम ने हरी झंडी दे दी लेकिन रेलवे की ओर पहल बंद कर दी गई है। नगरीय विद्युत वितरण खंड प्रथम के एक्सईएन एके सिंह का कहना है साल भर पहले ही पांच एमवीए का सबस्टेशन बनाने की योजना को स्वीकृति मिल गई थी लेकिन इसके बाद रेलवे की ओर से कोई पहल नहीं की गई। लाइन खींचने का काम ट्रांसमिशन करेगा और सबस्टेशन रेलवे को ही बनाना है। रेलवे की ओर से कोई पहल नहीं की गई है।

PATNA: Frequently targeted by Maoists and protesters during bandhs and issues as trivial as death of a cattle on tracks respectively, the East Central Railway (ECR) zone has incurred a loss of over Rs 17.26 crore in the past three years.The ECR lost over Rs 2.26 crore between 2011 till June this year on account of damage to its properties by agitators, Inspector General of Police of Railway Protection Force (RPF), ECR, Atul Pathak told PTI.The damage on this account was maximum in 2011 at Rs 1.36 crore.The zone suffered a loss of over Rs 9.58 crore due to damage to ECR properties caused by outlawed Maoists groups.Headquartered at Hajipur, ECR comprises five divisions -- Danapur, Mughalsarai, Dhanbad, Sonepur and Samastipur.Burning of 22 coaches and two engines by protesters at Dhamaraghat in Khagaria district after 28 devotees were mowed down by Saharsa-Patna on August 19 bled the Railway Rs 15 crore, Pathak said.In view of the situation, he said, the RPF and other agencies have tightened security across the zone.ECR Chief Public Relations Officer Amitabh Prabhakar said that awareness campaigns were being carried out regularly to educate people against causing damage to railway properties.It has been witnessed that Railways became the victim of public anger on even petty issues like death of a cow or goat on tracks or agitation against delay in issuing marksheets to college students.Recently, bandh sponsored by RJD and BJP in Saran over the death of 23 children after eating poisonous midday meal saw large scale damage to railway properties and stoppage of many trains.

Protest against alleged neglect towards Kazhakuttom by Railways

The action council for development of Kazhakuttom railway station will observe Friday as Black Day in protest against the neglect towards Kazhakuttom by Railways.To register the protest, people from all walks of life, including the railway passengers and students, would wear black badges, the council said. The railway authorities were adopting a negative stand on the genuine demands, including stops for long-distance trains, at the railway station, general convener John Venatius said.The observance of Black Day was part of intensifying the agitation to achieve the immediate demands. Mr. Venatius said one lakh signatures would be collected on Friday in support of the cause. The general convener said the memorandum would be presented soon to the Union Minister for Railways and Chairman of the Railway Board.To wind up the protest on Wednesday, a public meeting would be held on the station premises at 4.30 p.m.

The memorandum submitted by the council to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and a dharna held in front of the Divisional Railway Office had failed to evoke any response, he said.The council is demanding the elevation of the station as the third terminal of the Central Station; stops for Vanchinad, Malabar, Ernad, Parasuram, Venad, Kannur, and Chennai Super Expresses; increase in the number of ticket counters and reservation facility with IUTS system; and renovation and upgrade of the second and third platforms. Another demand put forward by the council is the renaming of the station as Kazhakuttom Technopark station.

As part  of its relentless agenda to contain the activity of touts at prominent stations especially in Delhiarea, Northern Railway carried out decoy checks yesterday(05.09.2013) in the Paharganj area adjoining New Delhistation. During the exercise carried out, the vigilance sleuths of Northern Railway swooped down o­n an Unauthorised Ticketing Agency  Sahara Tours at Amrit Kaur Market , Paharganj

            During the decoy checks, the  investigation team of Vigilance Department of Northern  Railway which requested for sleeper class tickets  costing Rs. 510/- were charged Rs. 1000/- for the same thus overcharging tickets by  Rs.490/-. When the team demanded authorization for the window-mode tickets(PRS Tickets), the owner of the agency produced authorization letter from IRCTC for preparing e-tickets o­nly thus clearly proving that he was unauthorisedly carrying o­n the ticketing activity. The owner of this above ticketing agency was arrested and legal action initiated under the Railways Act 1989.
