In order to clear extra rush of passengers, 16 Weekly Express Special Trains between Hatia - Yesvantpur and 14 Bi-Weekly Express Special Trains between Visakhapatnam - Kollam passing through SCR system will be run as per the following schedule:-
1)Hatia – Yesvantpur - Hatia Weekly Express Special Trains (16 Trips):-

Train No. 08637 Hatia - Yesvantapur Weekly Express Special Train will depart Hatia at 18 15 hrs o­n 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th September and          5th, 12th, 19th & 26th October, 2013 (Saturdays)and arrive Yesvantapur at  05 00 hrs o­n Mondays.

In the return direction, Train No. 08638 Yesvantapur - Hatia Weekly Express Special Train will depart Yesvantapur at 00 30 hrs o­n 10th, 17th & 24thSeptember and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th October, 2013 (Tuesdays), and arrive Hatia at 13 30 hrs o­n Wednesdays.

Enroute, these special trains will stop at Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Parvatipuram, Bobilli, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Duvvada, Samalkot, Rajahamundry, Vijayawada, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Tirupati, Pakala, Chittor , Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Krishnarajapuram stations in both the directions. These trains will have 15 coaches Viz., o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, seven Sleeper Class, three General Second Class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.

2)Visakhapatnam - Kollam Bi-Weekly Express Special Trains (14 Trips):-

Train No. 08569 Visakhapatnam - Kollam Bi-Weekly Express special train will depart Visakhapatnam at 09 00 hrs o­n 8th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd, 26th and 29th (Sundays & Thursdays) September, 2013 and arrive Kollam at 14 10 hrs o­n the next day i.e., Mondays & Fridays.

In the return direction, Train No. 08570 Kollam - Visakhapatnam Bi-Weekly Express special train will depart Kollam at 21 00 hrs o­n 9th, 13th, 16th, 20th, 23rd, 27th & 30th September, 2013 (Mondays & Fridays) and arrive Visakhapatnam at 01 35 hrs o­n the second day i.e., Wednesdays & Sundays.

Enroute, these trains will stop at Duvvada, Yellamanchili, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Bapatla, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruput, Coimbatore, Palghat, Trichur, Ernakulam Town and Kottayam.

These special trains will have o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III Tier, seven Sleeper Class, six General Second class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van coaches totalling to Seventeen coaches.

COIMBATORE: The Tiruchirapalli-Mangalore weekly super fast express (train no.12653) that was running via Podanur will be rerouted via Coimbatore from September 7, according to the railways. The train that has been renumbered as train no.16857 is named as Puducherry-Mangalore weekly superfast express but the extension to Puducherry from Trichy will be notified later. On the return journey, the train renumbered as train no.12658 will pass via Coimbatore eliminating the stop at Podanur.
Passengers have demanded that eight other trains should also be rerouted via Coimbatore junction. "Yard remodelling works at Podanur railway station is over and we are expecting the railways to start rerouting more trains via Coimbatore," said R Raveendran, member of Divisional Railway Users Consultative  Committee(DRUCC) said.
Raveendran, also a member of Coimbatore railway struggle committee said that due to sustained efforts of the committee, railways has rerouted four trains so far. The committee had also made representions to the railway ministry and senior officials to reroute more trains via Coimbatore. Trichy-Mangalore express is the fifth train to be rerouted via Coimbatore.
Among the five trains that has been rerouted via Coimbatore, only Chennai-Alapuzha express is a daily service and other services including Bilaspur-Tirunelveli, Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram, Puducherry-Mangalore (via Salem)and Mangalore-Puducherry (via Trichy) are weekly trains.
The trains that presently pass via Podanur include Yesvantpur-Kannur express, Chennai-Mangalore express, Hubli-Kochuveli express, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram express, Ernakulam-Bangalore bi-weekly express, Ernakulam-Bangalore weekly express, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram mail and Chennai-Mangalore mail. It is also reliably learnt that once the rakes are arranged, the railways will start operating the Coimbatore-Rameswaram weekly express that was announced in the 2013-14 railway budget.

NEW DELHI: Gyanodaya Express chugged out of Safdarjung railway station on Monday, carrying 900 students on the third such educational trip organized by the Delhi University. This time, it's heading to Punjab. This is the first time, 150 students from Edinburgh and London will be on what DU authorities call the "College on Wheels."

Flagged off by the MoS railways, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the trip will last till September 8. But it's the 'code of conduct' students are expected to adhere to for the duration of the trip that has drawn the most attention. "Students are to strictly adhere to the dress code i.e. girls are not to wear skirts, shorts or spaghetti (sic) and boys are also not to wear shorts and sleeveless T-shirts," it says.

WR UNDERTAKES BLOCK FOR CC APRON WORK AT MUMBAI CENTRAL (MAIN LINE)


            Western Railway will undertake 60 days Block from 8.00hrs from 11.9.2013 at Mumbai Central Platform No 1 for repairs of CC Apron etc. The block will be for a period of 60 days from 11.09.2013 to 9.11.2013. Due to this work, the following trains will be short terminated during this period:

1.59442 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Passenger will be terminated at Dadar o­n PF No. 5 at 04.05 hrs. Due to this 12928 to be delayed for about 10" to 15" minutes.

2.12902 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Gujarat mail will be terminated at Dadar o­n PF No. 6 at 06.00 hrs.

3.19012 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Gujarat Express will be terminated at Dadar o­n PF No. 5at 16.00 hrs.     

4.19024 Firozpur Janata Express will be terminated at Dadar.

FESTIVAL SPECIAL EXPRESS (WEEKLY) TRAIN BETWEEN ANAND VIHAR T.- SANTRAGACHI (16 TRIPS)




      To clear extra rush of Durga Puja & Deepawali, Railway has decided to run festival special Train No. 08034/08033 Anand Vihar T.- Santragachi- Anand Vihar T. (Weekly) Express as per the following schedule:

The 08033 Santragachi- Anand Vihar T. (Weekly) Express train will depart from Santragachi from 07.10.2013 to 25.11.2013 (8 trips) o­n every Monday at 08.45 a.m. to reach Anand Vihar T. at 11.50 noon the next day. In the return direction, the 08034 Anand Vihar T.- Santragachi (Weekly)  Express train will depart from Anand Vihar T. from 08.10.2013 to 26.11.2013 (8 trips) o­n every Tuesday at 01.30 p.m. to reach Santragachi at 07.30 p.m. the next day.

Comprising of o­ne A.C. 2 Tier, o­ne A.C. 3 Tier, Eight Sleeper Class, Five General Class & Two Second Class cum luggage van  coaches, the 08034/08033 Anand Vihar T.- Santragachi- Anand Vihar T. (Weekly) Express train  will stop at  Kanpur Central, Allahabad, Mughalsarai, Sasaram, Dehri-on-sone, Gaya, Gomoh, Purulia, Tatanagar & Kharagpur stations enroute in both the directions.

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh government's move to modernize mass transport system for its capital and adjoining cities got a shot in the arm with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) giving a final nod for construction of the inter-state metro rail link connecting Raipur and Durg. DMRC completed the feasibility study and has recommended for a detailed project report (DPR) that would see the metro rail chugging out of the city by 2021.It is learnt that the study has advised an elevated rail corridor with a mix of underground corridor as well.The first phase of the intercity project from Telibandha in Raipur to Poolgaon in Durg, a 45-km stretch with 20 stations, would cost an estimated Rs 6,000 crore. Work on it would commence once the Chhattisgarh government approves the DPR. The cost of the entire project, to be completed in three phases, is estimated at Rs 20,000 crore.Talking to TOI, Rohit Yadav, commissioner, state urban development authority (SUDA) confirmed that DMRC has approved the construction of the first phase of this project. He said the DMRC would submit its DPR, which could take six to eight months.Giving details of the project, Himshikhar Gupta, additional CEO for this project said the total rail link would be of 90 kms and it's likely to benefit a large section of about 36 lakh commuters who are likely to commute between Durg and Raipur every month by 2021. At present, about 28 lakh people commute between the two cities every month.

Gupta said second phase of the metrol rail project would include the link between Durg and Rajnandgaon and the final phase would connect the old and Naya Raipur. He said the project includes construction of residential and commercial complexes around the route of the rail link.
