जबलपुर. पल पल संवाददाता. इटारसी, जबलपुर, कटनी, सतना, इलाहाबाद के बीच इलेक्ट्रिफिकेशन का कार्य पूर्व में स्वीकृत हो चुका था लेकिन दो ज़ोनो के बीच का मामला होने के कारण इसमें कार्य को लेकर सहमति नहीं बन पा रही थी पर अब इस कार्य को प्रगति देने के कार्य योजना को अमलीजामा पहनाने इलाहाबाद के महाप्रबंधक और पश्चिम मध्य रेल के महाप्रबंधक के बीच हुई बैठक में यह निर्णय ले लिया गया है की बहुप्रतीक्षित मांग को पूरा करके ही रहेंगे. पश्चिम मध्य रेल के बीना-भोपाल व इटारसी-हबीबगंज के बीच तीसरी लाईन बीना-रुठवाई-कोटा के बीच दोहरीकरण इलेक्ट्रिफिकेशन के कार्य कराये जा रहे है. उसी तरह पिछले वर्ष बीना-रुठवाई-कोटा के बीच का कार्य पूर्ण हो गया है. अब इटारसी, जबलपुर, कटनी, सतना, इलाहाबाद के बीच के कार्य को पूरा करने योजना बन गई है. मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक़ चार खंडो में बाँट कर एक साथ कार्य किये जाने की भी सहमति बन गई है. इसके पूर्ण होने से ट्रेनों की लेटलतीफी से यात्रियों को निजात मिल सकेगी. उल्लेखनीय है कि इन स्टेशनों के बीच के 24 खंडों के बीच कार्य को लेकर सहमति बन गई है. कार्य के दौरान अधिकारियों/कर्मचारियों की नियुक्ति के सम्बन्ध में भी विचार कर रूपरेखा तैयार की गई है ताकि कार्य शीघ्र पूरा हो सके. यह महाकौशल क्षेत्र की वर्षों पुरानी मांग थी. इस पर राजनीतिक दलों के नेता भी मौन साधे हुए थे लेकिन पमरे के महाप्रबंधक सुनील वी आर्य के प्रयासों से यह योजना शीघ्र शुरू हो जायेगी.

रेल्वेची लेटलतिफी : लाखो रुपयांचा फटका
नागपूर : मागील १५ दिवसांपासून पावसामुळे रेल्वेगाड्या उशिरा येण्याचे सत्र सुरू आहे. यामुळे अनेक प्रवाशांच्या प्रवासात खोळंबा निर्माण झाला असून या कालावधीत नागपुरात तब्बल १८ हजार प्रवाशांनी आपला प्रवासाचा बेत रद्द करून तिकिटे रद्द केली. यामुळे रेल्वेला लाखो रुपयांचा फटका बसला आहे.
पावसामुळे मागील १५ दिवसांपासून रेल्वेचे वेळापत्रक विस्कळीत झाले आहे. अनेक रेल्वेगाड्या २ ते ५ तास उशिराने धावत आहेत. यामुळे रेल्वेगाड्यांची वाट पाहून वैतागलेल्या प्रवाशांवर आपला प्रवासच रद्द करण्याची पाळी आली. या कालावधीत तब्बल १८ हजार ११ प्रवाशांनी आपली तिकिटे रद्द केल्याची माहिती रेल्वे प्रशासनाने दिलेल्या आकडेवारीवरून पुढे आली आहे. यात १ जूनला १५५३ प्रवासी, २ जूनला ९४८, ३ जूनला ११४८, ४ जूनला ११७५, ५ जूनला १२६४, ६ जूनला १४२३, ७ जूनला १४१३, ८ जूनला १२६१, ९ जूनला ८८८, १0 जूनला १३00, ११ जूनला १0३४, १२ जूनला ९९७, १३ जूनला ९४४, १४ जूनला १00७, १५ जूनला १0५१ आणि १६ जूनला ६0५ प्रवाशांनी आपली तिकिटे रद्द केल्याची नोंद रेल्वे प्रशासनाने केली आहे.
एवढय़ा मोठय़ा प्रमाणावर प्रवाशांनी आपली तिकिटे रद्द केल्यामुळे रेल्वेला लाखो रुपयांचा फटका बसला आहे. रेल्वेच्या विस्कळीत झालेल्या वेळापत्रकामुळे अनेक प्रवाशांना मन:स्ताप सहन करावा लागत असून त्यांना ताटकळत रेल्वेस्थानकावर बसण्याची पाळी आली आहे. (प्रतिनिधी)

पावसात रेल्वेचे रुळ पाण्याखाली जाण्याच्या घटना नेहमीच घडतात. अनेकदा रेल्वेस्थानकावर गाडीची वाट पाहणार्‍या प्रवाशांना ‘लेट’ येणारी रेल्वेगाडी नेमकी किती उशिरा येणार आहे, याची माहिती अध्र्या-अध्र्या तासाने देण्यात येते. त्यामुळे अर्धा तास झाला की गाडीत बसण्याची मानसिकता केलेल्या प्रवाशांना मन:स्ताप होतो.

Regular toilets will be replaced by eco-friendly bio-toilets for disposing human waste at all stations of the Konkan Railway (KR), an official said here Wednesday. Two railway stations, Chiplun and Kankavali on the KR route, had earlier been selected for installing the country's first green toilets to bio-degrade night soil through technology developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). "The technology, while permitting eco-friendly and quicker disposal of human waste, is also economical. Passengers and locals at both Chiplun and Kankavali have appreciated the efforts of the railways," the official said. Encouraged by the public response, KR has now decided to set up such toilets at all the major stations on its network. The bio-toilet uses the DRDO's bio-digester technology, which is economical and can be implemented faster than the regular RCC (reinforced concrete cement) toilets. "The technology is 100 percent maintenance-free and allows complete elimination of pathogens without requiring the night soil to be disposed through sewage line and septic tank," the official explained. Since the need for septic tanks and sewage lines has been eliminated in this technology, the bio-toilets can be installed and ready for use within just 48 hours, compared to two months for the conventional toilets. Even the cost savings on bio-toilets are high, as much as 70 percent, compared to regular toilets. While a regular toilet costs around Rs.100,000, a bio-toilet can be put up at just Rs.30,000. The bio-digester requires only an initial one-time charging with anaerobic bacterial inoculums if it is in regular use. The bio-degradation of the night soil leads to generation of bio-gas which can be utilised for cooking. The clean, odour-less water extracted after bio-degradation can be recycled for irrigation in gardens and other such places. The DRDO bio-toilets are being widely utilised by the defence forces in remote locations. The Indian Railways signed a memorandum of understanding with the DRDO in 2010 to develop a bio-toilet for use in railway coaches to improve the environment in and around the railway infrastructure.

SRINAGAR, June 18: Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, president J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, visited Pahalgam today to dedicate the film produced by IRCON, a reputed Railway Construction Company, on the Railway Development in Jammu and Kashmir.
The DVDs of the films were distributed by the IRCON among the audience.
Prof Soz was accompanied by Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Mohd Abdullah Nadaf, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Anayatullah Rather, Hilal Shah, Gulam Mohd Mir, Shaheena Nadaf and others. On this occasion Senior officers of IRCON, Khanna and Anand were also present.
While releasing the DVD of the  film,  Prof  Soz said that it was his dream to have  Kashmir on the Railway  map of India and  as the records of proceedings in the  Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha  will show  that he  had  struggled for extension of  Railway Line to Kashmir for all these years. He said  the Railway travel in Kashmir Valley from Qazigund to Baramulla has become a celebration for people and it is heartening that general trend is that people in Kashmir never try to travel without tickets.
Prof Soz further said  it was his fond hope that after Qazigund getting connected with Banihal shortly, the efforts are redoubled to connect Kashmir with Jammu and Delhi.
Prof Soz  also  said that there  will be a  day when Jammu will get connected to  Rajouri and  Poonch and Baramulla  will get connected with Kupwara  and Uri.

The 12985/12986 Jaipur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jaipur Double    Decker Trains will be augmented  by attaching o­ne additional Executive chair car from 21.06.2013 to 18.09.2013 from Jaipur and Delhi.
12059/12060 Kota Hazrat Nizamuddin-Kota Jan Shatabdi Express Train will be augmented  by attaching o­ne additional AC Chair Car from 21.06.2013 to 01.07.2013 from Kota and Hazrat Nizamuddin. The other features like timings, route, stoppages, composition etc. will remain as unchanged.

The engine of train no. 12623 mail superfast express from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram seized up after it left the station here and reached the nearby tunnel around 7.35 a.m. on Tuesday.As it got stranded on the single line, several trains were held up at stations such as Changanassery, Ettumanur and Thiruvalla for two-and-a-half hours.The line was cleared after an engine was brought from Ernakulam and connected to the stranded train at 10 a.m. Many passengers had got off the train by then and took buses to their destinations.Railway authorities said the engine started malfunctioning soon after the train left the Tripunithura station.

In the absence of any follow-up measure after last year’s budget announcement by the Railways to accord Adarsh status to Tiruverumbur station, the major station located on the Tiruchi-Thanjavur railway section presents a pathetic sight.Although a highly-patronised station, it is yet to get a footbridge and a host of amenities. Rail passengers still have to cross the tracks riskily. The danger caused by the absence of footbridge and inadequate lighting is prominently felt at night when passengers board the Rockfort Express and Mysore Express trains in large numbers. The only visible work is the construction of platform shelters.According to official sources, 50 trains cross the station every day in both directions and of them 30 stop at the station that is patronised largely by the public in BHEL Township, ordnance factory estate, Kattur, and residents of Thuvakudi. The footbridge project, initiated a few years ago, is still in progress.The station lacks basic amenities. Inadequacy of drinking water and lack of toilet facilities cause enormous discomfiture for passengers, says Anbalagan, spokesperson, Tiruverumbur Taluk Development Committee.Alongside platform shelters, drinking water facility and pay and use toilets, an Adarsh station ought to have electronic coach indication boards, spacious waiting room, passenger reservation system centre, ramps for benefit of the people with disabilities, connecting platforms, and cloak room.

Users of Tiruverumbur railway station were promised that all the facilities would be put in place in a year’s time. Railway sources say, the Ministry had earmarked Rs. 13 crore for developing the station. However, there was no indication as to when the funds would be received, sources said.

In recent months, after the eviction of encroachments at the entrance by the National Highways Authority of India, the approach road to the station appears broader. The road should be further broadened to lay separate entry and exit roads, says Raja, a local industrialist.

Removing encroachments on the approach road was one of the pre-requisites specified by the BHEL two years ago to sanction funds for developing a spacious parking lot, landscaping, and providing lighting arrangements.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs formally notified upgrading ‘Kurnool Town’ railway station to ‘Kurnool City’. The Union Ministry directed the State government on Tuesday to issue a notification in the Gazette to the effect and send the copies to Home Affairs Ministry, Surveyor General of India, Dehradun; Director, AP Spatial Data Centre, Hyderabad; Director of Printing, Dehradun and Director Traffic Commercial at Rail Bhavan, New Delhi.The R&B officials would inspect the railway station and initiate steps for notification of the elevation. Deputy Minister for Railways Kotla Jayasuryaprakasa Reddy, who was behind the initiative, told The Hindu from New Delhi that the upgrading of the station was a long-pending demand.Despite the willingness of the railways to develop the station, much could not be done due to the statutory hurdle. Only the Ministry of Home Affairs was authorised to make changes. The elevation would help the railways to enhance the passenger quota, increase the duration of stops for various long-distance trains and sanction stops for new trains at Kurnool. Also, it facilitates to name a train as inter-city express. Mr. Reddy said the railway station could have been elevated long ago, but due to lack of proper pursuance, the subject remained unattended. He said steps were being taken for launching of an inter-city express soon between Kurnool and Secunderabad and start works on railway wagon workshop. He said railway facilities would be expanded soon in Kurnool and other places.
