Western Railway will introduce a new passenger train between Nadiad and Modasa o­n 26thJuly, 2013. It will run six days a week except friday. The regular service of the train will start from 27/07/2013.



The inaugural run of the train will be run as Train No.09153 Ex Nadiad o­n 26/07/2013 (Friday) at 10.00 hrs which will arrive at Modasa at 13.30 hrs the same day. In its return direction, Train No. 09154 will depart from Modasa at 14.15hrs reaching Nadiad Jn. at 17.45 hrs the same day.


In its regular run from 27th July, 2013, Train No. 59153 Nadiad – Modasa passenger will leave Nadiad at 10.00 hrs every day (except friday) and reach Modasa at 13.30 hrs, the same day.



Similarly, in return direction Train No. 59154 Modasa – Nadiad passenger will leave Modasaat 14.15hrs every day (except friday) from 27thJuly, 2013 and reach Nadiad at 17.45hrs, the same day.



The train has second class general coaches.



The train will halt at Mahudha, Bhaner-Minawada Road, Kathlal, Kapadvanj, Vadali Letar Road, Kashipura, Beyad and Dhansura stations in both directions.

South Central Railway will divert Train No. 16351/16352 CST Mumbai-Nagercoil-CST Mumbai Balaji Express to run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati  with effect from the dates mentioned below:-

1)  Train No. 16351 CST Mumbai-Nagercoil Balaji Express will run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati with effect from 03rd September, 2013.

2) Train No. 16352 Nagercoil-CST Mumbai Balaji Express will run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati with effect from 05th September, 2013.

PATNA: Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Danapur, Sonpur and Dhanbad Divisions of East Central Railway (ECR) have been transferred by the Railway Board, New Delhi, following completion of their two-year tenure in their respective divisions. However, officials orders in this connection are yet to reach the ECR headquarters.

According to sources, NK Gupta, an officer of IRSE cadre presently posted in Southern Railway, has been posted as new DRM of Danapur division. Present DRM LM Jha is likely to be transferred to the ECR’s construction wing, sources said, adding Rajesh Tiwari and BB Singh are likely to be posted as new DRMs of Sonepur and Dhanbad divisions, respectively.

South Central Railway will divert Train No. 16351/16352 CST Mumbai-Nagercoil-CST Mumbai Balaji Express to run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati  with effect from the dates mentioned below:-

1)  Train No. 16351 CST Mumbai-Nagercoil Balaji Express will run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati with effect from 03rd September, 2013.

2) Train No. 16352 Nagercoil-CST Mumbai Balaji Express will run via Renigunta without touching Tirupati with effect from 05th September, 2013.

The train number, days of Service and timings of  Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT Bi-weeklyExpress train will be  revised as detailed below:
Train No. 22819 / 22820 of Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam bi-weekly Express will be revised as 18519 / 18520 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam Express with effect from 10th September, 2013 ex. Visakhapatnam  and  from 12th September,  2013 ex. Mumbai  LTT.

Train No. 18519 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT bi-weekly Express will depart Visakhapatnam at 23 30 hrs instead of 08 45 hrs and arrive Mumbai LTT at 04 40 hrs o­n the  next day  instead of 11 05 hrs with effect from 10thSeptember, 2013.

In the return direction, Train No. 18520 Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam by-weekly Express will depart Mumbai LTT at 06 55 hrs instead of 12 25 hrs and arrive Visakhapatnam at 11 15 hrs. o­n the next day instead of 14 45 hrs with effect from 12th September 2013.

Similarly, the days of service will be also changed.  Train No. 18519 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT bi-weekly Express will depart Visakhapatnam  o­n Wednesdays and Saturdays as existing whereas Train No. 18520 Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam by-weekly Express will depart Mumbai LTT o­n Fridays and Mondays instead of Thursdays and Sundays.

South Western Railway (SWR) on Thursday said it would continue to run weekly GaribRath express special trains between Yesvantpur-Jaipur-Yesvantpur (tr.no.06511/06512) for 22 trips in each direction. Accordingly, Train No.06511 Yesvantpur-Jaipur weekly GaribRath express special will depart at Yesvantpur at 05-10 hrs, on Sundays commencing from 04th August, 2013 to 29th December, 2013 (Total : 22 Specials ) and arrive at Jaipur station at 03-50 hrs, on Tuesday.

In the return direction, Train No. 06512 Jaipur-Yesvantpur weekly Garib Rath express special will depart at Jaipur at 15-30 hrs. on Tuesdays, commencing from 06th august, 2013 to 31st December, 2013 (total : 22 specials) and arrive at Yesvantpur at 15-10 hrs., on Thursdays.

The Weekly Garib Rath Express Special has total 18 Coaches, consisting of Sixteen AC 3-tier coaches and Two Motor Cars.

Also, SWR has augmented additional coaches for train nos. 17209/17210 Kakinada town-Bangalore city-Kakinada town express temporarily. The revised composition is total : 19 coaches (instead of 18 coaches), consisting of three AC 3-tier coaches, two ac 2-tier coaches, nine second class sleeper coaches, three general second class coaches and two second class luggage-cum-brake vans.

The train number, days of Service and timings of  Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT Bi-weeklyExpress train will be  revised as detailed below:
Train No. 22819 / 22820 of Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam bi-weekly Express will be revised as 18519 / 18520 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam Express with effect from 10th September, 2013 ex. Visakhapatnam  and  from 12th September,  2013 ex. Mumbai  LTT.

Train No. 18519 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT bi-weekly Express will depart Visakhapatnam at 23 30 hrs instead of 08 45 hrs and arrive Mumbai LTT at 04 40 hrs o­n the  next day  instead of 11 05 hrs with effect from 10thSeptember, 2013.

In the return direction, Train No. 18520 Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam by-weekly Express will depart Mumbai LTT at 06 55 hrs instead of 12 25 hrs and arrive Visakhapatnam at 11 15 hrs. o­n the next day instead of 14 45 hrs with effect from 12th September 2013.

Similarly, the days of service will be also changed.  Train No. 18519 Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT bi-weekly Express will depart Visakhapatnam  o­n Wednesdays and Saturdays as existing whereas Train No. 18520 Mumbai LTT-Visakhapatnam by-weekly Express will depart Mumbai LTT o­n Fridays and Mondays instead of Thursdays and Sundays.

A public interest writ petition has been filed in the Madras High Court to restrain the authorities concerned from deleting Royapuram railway station from the list of heritage buildings in phase-I, prepared by the CMDA and the Heritage Conservation panel.

The second bench comprising Justices R Banumathi and T S Sivagnanam before which the PIL from advocate S Sathia Chandran came up for hearing on Wednesday, ordered notice returnable in two weeks.

The PIL’s interim prayer was to restrain the Southern Railway GM from carrying out any repair or renovation work, including painting of the building.

According to the petitioner, he came to know through a newspaper that the Southern Railway officials had approached the Heritage Conservation Committee for removal of the Royapuram railway station building from the list of the heritage buildings so as to enable them to demolish it and undertake some other projects.

It was most unfortunate that the Railways had mooted this extreme, destructive and disastrous step of wiping out the history from its precincts and at the same time, claiming heritage of various kinds.

The building is of historic importance, remaining the oldest station in the entire sub-continent from 1856. On the 72-acre station premises, the heritage building did not even occupy a quarter ground of 2,400 sq.ft.

Hence the insensitivity of the railways to the history and heritage of the station building was highly condemnable, the petitioner contended.
