South Central Railway  will temporarily augment the following express / special trains with additional Sleeper Class Coaches to clear the extra rush / waitlisted passengers as per the details mentioned below:-

1.Tr.No. 12764 Secunderabad-Tirupati Padmavati Express will be temporarily augmented with o­ne additional Sleeper Class Coach  from 8th  to 11th August, 2013
2.Tr.No. 12763 Tirupati-Secunderabad Padmavati Express will be temporarily augmented with o­ne additional Sleeper Class Coach from 9th to 12th August, 2013.
3.Tr.No. 17603 Kacheguda-Yesvantapur Express will be temporarily augmented with o­ne additional Sleeper Class Coach from 8th to 11th August, 2013.
4.Tr.No. 17604 Yesvantapur-Kacheguda Express will be temporarily augmented with o­ne additional Sleeper Class Coach from 9th to 12th August, 2013.
5.Tr.No. 17401 Tirupati-Machilipatnam Express will be temporarily augmented with o­ne additional Sleeper Class Coach 9thto 11th August, 2013.
6.Tr.No. 17402 Machilipatnam-Tirupati Express will be temporarily augmented with o­ne additional Sleeper Class Coach from 10th to 12th August, 2013.
7.Tr.No. 07101 Lingampalli-Kakinada Town Special Train will be temporarily augmented with two additional Sleeper Class Coach o­n 8th August, 2013.
These 8 additional coaches will make available 576 additional Sleeper Class berths per service.

4 SPECIAL TRAINS FOR VELANKANNI FESTIVAL

Railways have decided to run 4 special trains between Mumbai and Velankanni to clear the extra rush of passengers during Velankanni Festival. The details of service as under –

A) CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI TERMINUS – VELANKANNI- CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI TERMINUS SPECIAL

01029 special train will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 11.30 hrs o­n 26.8.2013 (Monday) and will arrive Velankanni at 19.15 hrs next day.

01030 special train will leave Velankanni at 13.35 hrs o­n 28.8.2013 (Wednesday) and will arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 23.40 hrs next day.

HALTS: Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavla, Pune, Solapur, Gulbarga, Wadi, Raichur, Guntakal, Gooty, Kadapa, Renigunta, Puttur, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Vellore, Arni Road, Tiruvannamalai, Tirukkovilur, Villupuram, Cuddalore Port, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

01031 special train will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 12.05 hrs o­n 27.8.2013 (Tuesday) and will arrive Velankanni at 18.45 hrs next day.

01032 special train will leave Velankanni at 13.35 hrs o­n 29.8.2013 (Thursday) and will arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 23.45 hrs next day.

SHORT TERMINATION OF GORAKHPUR TRAINS

Railways have decided to short terminate the following trains arriving Gorakhpur at Deoriya Sadar/ Basti/ Mau between 30.9.2013 to 5.10.2013 o­n Temporary Basis due to Pre Non-interlocking and Non-interlocking work in connection with Gorakhpur Yard remodelling o­n Northeast Railway.
1. Train No. 11055 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Gorakhpur Godan Express leaving LTT o­n 30.9.2013, 2.10.2013 and 4.10.2013 will be terminated at Deoria Sadar instead of Gorakhpur.

2. Train No. 11015 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Gorakhpur Kushinagar Express leaving LTT from 2.10.2013 to 5.10.2013 will be terminated at Basti instead of Gorakhpur.

3. Train No.11037 Pune – Gorakhpur Express leaving Pune o­n 3.10.2013 will be terminated at Mau instead of Gorakhpur.

Passengers are requested to kindly note the above changes.

Seventy per cent of children at Jaipur Railway Station did not have any access to police officials they could trust for protection. In fact, the Railway Police Force was implicated in numerous types of abuse and maltreatment of children including physical abuse, sexual abuse of girls and boys, incarcerating children on false accusations and exploitation for drugs and money.This was revealed in a study by Harvard School of Public Health in collaboration with the Public Health Foundation of India and FXB India Suraksha. The comprehensive study — developed on the SAFE Child Protection model developed by Theresa Betancourt, director of the Research Programme on Children and Global Adversity at Harvard University —was conducted on 49 children between the ages of 8-17 years, living and working on railway station.While trying to understand the safety conditions of these children, the study also revealed that the older children bullied, physically abused and sexually abused the younger children; girls who were orphans or without any caretakers were especially vulnerable.More than three-fourths of the children admitted to using drugs on a regular basis. Children as young as eight were severely addicted and spent most of their days high on whitener solutions. Two out of five children did not have access to health care services.Dr Aruna Bhattacharya of Indian Institute of Public Health said, “The thrust behind the study at Jaipur is to give every child a better future for their fullest physical, psychological, social, cognitive and cultural development.”

रेलवे के अंबाला डिवीजन ने वीरवार को सीनियर टिकट एग्जामिनर ज्योति प्रसाद (सीटीआइ /लाइन/ सहारनपुर) को उत्कृष्ट कार्य के लिए 'मैन ऑफ द मंथ' के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया है। ज्योति प्रसाद ने ड्यूटी के दौरान न सिर्फ बिना टिकट यात्रा करने वाले बल्कि सामान का भाड़ा नहीं चुकाने वालों पर भी नकेल कसी। ज्योति प्रसाद ने नियम उल्लंघन के दोषी यात्रियों से 9 लाख 61 हजार 480 रुपये जुर्माना भी जुटाया जोकि एक रिकार्ड है।
इसी क्रम में रेलवे के अंबाला मंडल ने खेल वर्ग में विशिष्ट उपलब्धि के लिए आफिस क्लर्क (इंजीनियरिंग विभाग) बलिंदर सिंह को स्पो‌र्ट्स मैन आफ द मंथ पुरस्कार के लिए चुना है। बलिंदर सिंह ने सिंकदराबाद में हाल ही में हुई आल इंडिया रेलवे पावर लिफ्टिंग चैंपियनशिप 2013-14 में गोल्ड मेडल जीतने के अलावा चैंपियनशिप में भी पहला स्थान हासिल किया है।

South Eastern Railway conducted a special ticket checking drive at Panskura, Mecheda, Deulti, Bagnan, Uluberia, Dasnagar and Tikiapara of Kharagpur Division from 10th July to 16th July and again from 27th July to 3rd August, 2013.
During this massive ticket checking drive in the suburban section of SER , 804 passengers were detected travelling either without ticket or with irregular tickets and an amount of Rs.2.94 lakhs (Rupees Two lakhs ninety four thousand) was realised from them as fine.
During the period, 2009 unbooked luggage cases were also detected by the officers and staff of Commercial Department along with RPF Personnel and an amount of Rs.1.18 lakhs (Rupees One lakh eighteen thousand) was collected as fine.
The ticket checking drive is still continuing for curbing ticketless travel.
