SPECIAL TRAIN TO CHENNAI

Railways have decided to run o­ne additional special train from Velankanni to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and this train will run back from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Chennai Central in return direction to clear the extra rush of passengers. The details are as under –

06802 special train will leave Velankanni at 23.00 hrs o­n 08.09.2013 (Sunday) and will arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.05 hrs o­n third  day.

Halts : Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Sirkazhi, Chidambaram, Tirupadaripulliyur, Villupuram, Tirukkovilur, Tiruvannamalai, Arni Road, Vellore, Katpadi, Tirupati, Renigunta, Koduru, Razampet, Cuddappah, Yerraguntala, Muddanurru, Kondapuram, Tadipatri, Gooty, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Solapur, Daund, Pune, Lonavala and Kalyan.

आसनसोल रेलवे स्टेशन में यात्रियों की सुविधा को ध्यान रखते हुए स्टेशन मैनेजर हसन न्याज ने शनिवार को स्टेशन का निरीक्षण किया। इस दौरान डिप्टी कमर्शियल मैनेजर मनोज तिवारी भी मौजूद थे। सूत्रों के अनुसार, स्टेशन मैनेजर ने प्लेटफार्म संख्या पांच के ऊपरी मंजिल पर स्थित रिटायरिंग रुम, वेटिंग रुम, प्लेटफार्म संख्या दो व पांच का निरीक्षण किया। इस दौरान प्लेटफार्म स्थित टी स्टाल, कैंटीन, साफ-सफाई आदि का जायजा लिया। मालूम हो कि हाल ही में हसन न्याज स्टेशन मैनेजर बन कर आए हैं। वे स्टेशन परिसर में साफ-सफाई पर विशेष जोर दे रहे हैं। उनके ही प्रयास से जीआरपी थाना में साईन बोर्ड लगा। जो कि पिछले डेढ़ वर्ष से नहीं था।

इलाहाबाद। उत्तर मध्य रेलवे प्रशासन ने इलाहाबाद जंक्शन से एक और ट्रेन हमेशा के लिए हटाने का फैसला कर लिया है। इलाहाबाद से ऊंचाहार होते हुए कानपुर तक चलने वाली एयूसी पैसेंजर अब कानपुर से प्रयाग के बीच ही चलाई जाएगी। यह ट्रेन नौ सितंबर से प्रयाग से इलाहाबाद के बीच नहीं चलेगी। अभी यह गाड़ी इलाहाबाद जंक्शन से कानपुर के लिए शाम 4.45 बजे छूटती है। सीपीआरओ संदीप माथुर के मुताबिक नौ सितंबर से गाड़ी संख्या 54102/54101 कानपुर से प्रयाग के बीच ही चलेगी। इससे प्रयाग से छूटने वाली ट्रेनों की संख्या बढ़कर छह हो जाएगी। यहां से पहले से ही जौनपुर की एक, फैजाबाद और बरेली की दो-दो पैसेंजर ट्रेनों का संचालन किया जा रहा है, लेकिन यात्रियों के लिए दिक्कत यह है कि प्रयाग से छूटने वाली ट्रेनों में न साफ-सफाई होती है और न ही पानी भरने की कोई व्यवस्था है। इलाहाबाद से कुंडा, ऊंचाहार और लालगंज की ओर जाने वाले यात्रियों को एक लाभ जरूर मिलेगा कि प्रयाग स्टेशन से इस ट्रेन का संचालन दुरुस्त हो जाएगा। जंक्शन से चलने के दौरान अक्सर यह गाड़ी रात आठ से नौ बजे के बीच छूटती है।

Two special trains, one between Velankanni-LTT Mumbai and another between LTT Mumbai-Chennai Central will be operated in order to clear the extra rush of passengers attending Velankanni Matha festival at Velankanni, in Tamilnadu.Velankanni-LTT Mumbai special train will depart from Velankanni at 23.00 hrs on September 8 (Sunday) and arrive in LTT Mumbai at 11.05 hrs on Tuesday.LTT Mumbai-Chennai Central special train will depart from LTT Mumbai at 12.25 hrs on  September 10 (Tuesday) and arrive in Chennai Central at 12.30 hrs on Wednesday.

NFR rally to beat Sunrise AC

GUWAHATI, Sept 6 – After two back-to-back defeats, defending champions NF Railway Sports Club are back to winning form in the Abhishek Motors RG Baruah GSA Super League Football Tournament as they rallied to beat Sunrise Athletic Club 2-1.
With today’s victory, the NF Railway team has collected 19 points with one match to go and are placed in a satisfactory position to retain the title. Navajyoti are following them with 15 points while Green Valley (14 points) and Sunrise (12 points) are in the third and the fourth positions respectively. Both Navajyoti and Green Valley have two more matches to play.

The Railway team was distinctly a dominating side today enjoying superior ball possession. They made a bright start but failed to breeze ahead at the early stage of the match. They should have won the match by a much bigger margin but their strikers – Jalendra Brahma, Y Raju Singh and Chayaram Basumatary – missed some easy sitters.

Despite having domination in the midfield and in the up front, the Railway strikers could not capitalise on the scoring opportunities even from close ranges. Particularly in the second session, the NF Railway team kept the Sunrise defenders under constant pressure.

The railwaymen conceded a soft goal in the 22nd minute when Nigerian Camara sent a square pass from the right wing to his country mate Olando who gently put the ball in the Railway goal (1-0).

In the remaining part of the first session, Railway made some valiant efforts in search of the equaliser but some good work by Sunrise defenders Sanjay Nag and Raju Roy, rescued them from conceding goal in the first session.

NF Railway finally managed to level the issue in the 66th minute when the ball deflected into the Sunrise goal off a Sibra Narzary shot. Sibra unleashed a shot from top of the box and the ball entered the goal kissing Sunrise defender Rojit Singh’s thigh (1-1).

Railwaymen’s tireless efforts paid off as Chayaram Basumatary hit the winning goal in the 85th minute. Anticipating a pass from Sushanta Mazumdar, Chayaram ran through the Sunrise defence line and drove home from inside the box (2-1).

COIMBATORE: The inaugural run of the Coimbatore-Rameswaram Weekly Express would be held on Sept 17 from here and from Rameswaram the next day in the return direction.

The train would leave Coimbatore at 7.45 PM to reach Rameswaram at 6.45 AM the next day and in the return direction would depart from Rameswaram at 7 PM on Wednesday to reach here at 6.40 AM the next day, a Southern Railway press release said today.

The trains will stop at Coimbatore North, Tirupur, Erode, Karur Junction, Tiruchirapalli, Pudukottai, ChettinadBSE 0.13 %, Karaikudi, Devakottai Road, Sivaganga, Manamadurai, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram, Mandapam and Rameswaram, it said.

The advance reservations would open from tomorrow. Meanwhile, the frequency of the Coimbatore-Tirupati tri-weekly Express has been increased to four days per week.

The Coimbatore-Tirupati Express would leave here on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and in the return direction on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, it said.

However, there will be no change in the composition, timings and stoppages.

The additional service will be from sept 12 on both directions, the release said.

MANGALORE: Southern Railway has provided five Onam special trains with a one minute stoppage at Mavelikara. Train number 08569 Vishakapattnam - Kollam special leaving Vishakapatnam at 9am on Sundays and Thursdays from September 8 to 29 will leave at Mavelikara at 12.42pm. Train number 08570 Kollam - Vishakapattnam special leaving Kollam at 9pm on Monday/Friday from September 9 to 30 will depart Mavelikara at 9.44pm.

Train number 06304 Nagercoil - Mangalore junction special leaving Nagercoil at 8.35pm o-n September 11 and 18 will leave Mavelikara at 11.59pm. Train number 06303 Mangalore junction - Nagercoil special leaving Mangalore junction at 2.40pm on September 12 and 19 will depart Mavelikara at 12.14am. Train number 06745 Chennai Central - Tirunelveli special leaving Chennai Central at 3.15pm on September 13 will leave Mavelikara at 4.59pm.

New Delhi: Palace on Wheels, the luxury train for tourists, today chugged out of Safdarjung station here on its first journey of the season carrying 34 passengers.   A joint venture of Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), the train with all modern facilities will travel to Jaipur, Sawaimadhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra before returning to the capital.   The train has 23 coaches comprising 14 saloons, one spa coach, two restaurants--"Maharaja" and "Maharani", and one reception-cum-bar.   The seven-day journey takes the tourists across mountains, rivers, forests and sand dunes in air-conditioned comfort.   It will make a total of 34 trips from September 2013 to April 2014 and 3000 passengers are expected to travel in the train, said a senior railway official.   The Palace on Wheels is a luxury tourist train. It was launched by the Indian Railways to promote tourism in Rajasthan.   The train service was refurbished and relaunched in August 2009 with a new decor, itinerary and cuisine. It was voted the 4th luxurious train in the world in 2010.
