Title - Inaugural run of Coimbatore-Rameswaram weekly express from September 17

COIMBATORE: The inaugural run of the Coimbatore-Rameswaram Weekly Express would be held on Sept 17 from here and from Rameswaram the next day in the return direction.

The train would leave Coimbatore at 7.45 PM to reach Rameswaram at 6.45 AM the next day and in the return direction would depart from Rameswaram at 7 PM on Wednesday to reach here at 6.40 AM the next day, a Southern Railway press release said today.

The trains will stop at Coimbatore North, Tirupur, Erode, Karur Junction, Tiruchirapalli, Pudukottai, ChettinadBSE 0.13 %, Karaikudi, Devakottai Road, Sivaganga, Manamadurai, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram, Mandapam and Rameswaram, it said.

The advance reservations would open from tomorrow. Meanwhile, the frequency of the Coimbatore-Tirupati tri-weekly Express has been increased to four days per week.

The Coimbatore-Tirupati Express would leave here on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and in the return direction on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, it said.

However, there will be no change in the composition, timings and stoppages.

The additional service will be from sept 12 on both directions, the release said.
