Hubli: Elated over the completion of 100 days in office as Railway Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that he has performed efficiently and fulfilled the expectations of people in the State.

Speaking after flagging off the Hubli-Secunderabad tri-weekly express and Hubli-Mumbai weekly express here on Wednesday, Kharge said he has introduced 14 new trains in the State and introduced a few extensions ever since he assumed office.

Taking credit for doubling the budgetary allocation for South Western Railways from Rs 350 crore to Rs 740 crore, he said that he will complete three new railway lines including Kadur-Chikmagalur and Kolar Chikballapur within the next one-and-a-half months.

“The work done by me for implementation of pending railway projects has brought me a great amount of satisfaction. I have given additional funds of Rs 350 crore to speed up railway line work in Karnataka. I have introduced several measures which were not announced in the Budget”, Kharge said.
