R. Dhruvanarayan, Chamarajanagar MP, has said that he has done his best in the last three years to develop his constituency.He was speaking to presspersons here on Wednesday.Parts of four Assembly constituencies, including Nanjangud and H.D. Kote in Mysore district, come under Chamarajanagar constituency.Mr. Dhruvanarayan said that Rs. 32 crore had been sanctioned from the Central Road Fund, and as much as Rs. 22 crore was being spent on improving roads in Mysore district.In Chamarajanagar, works on national highways worth Rs. 443.87 crore had been taken up. Works included building a 18.8 km two-lane road in the Bandipur forest area; 15.9 km road from Bandipur to Gundlupet town; and a 26.5 km four-lane road from Nanjangud to Mysore, Mr. Dhruvanarayan said.The Chamarajanagar railway station had been upgraded, and the one at Nanjangud would be improved soon. A railway bridge at Mariyalada Hundi, which costs Rs. 14.5 crore, had been dedicated to the people, Mr. Dhruvanarayan stated.Approvals had been accorded by the Centre for the Chamarajanagar–Krishnagiri rail route and Chamrajanagar–Tumkur route. The Chamarajanagar–Mysore route would become functional in July, he said.Tourism would be developed in Chamarajanagar district at a cost of Rs. 100 crore for which the State government had come out with an initial estimate. A sum of Rs. 15.73 crore had been sanctioned to develop tourism in the district during 2010-11. Of this, Rs. 8.84 crore had been released and Rs. 4.47 crore spent. Other plans included developing a ‘Theme Park’ in Suttur, a modern ESI hospital at Nanjangud and a ‘Spice Park’ in Chamarajanagar. |
