he Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the Railways to file within four weeks an affidavit in response to the petition filed against its alleged negligence to the needs of passengers in the state.A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A M Shaffique passed the order while considering a petition filed by the All-India Lawyers Union seeking safety of passengers in trains.The petition was filed in the light of the accident wherein a bogie of the Ernakulam-Kayamkulam passenger broke off from the engine and derailed at Alappuzha railway station last week. |
