Haryana is considering introducing a Mono rail between Faridabad and Gurgaon, which will further accelerate the pace of development in the area, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Sunday.

The modalities of the project will be worked out, Mr. Hooda told a rally here while announcing a slew of incentives for Faridabad, including construction of a road from Bata Chowk to B.K. Civil Hospital costing Rs.12 crore and rehabilitation of slum dwellers after a survey in February.

On the power crisis in the State, he said 20 to 22 hour uninterrupted power supply will soon be provided to all cities and villages of Haryana. Mr. Hooda also said he will visit Bhutan on the invitation of the Bhutan Prime Minister regarding the setting up of a new hydel power project there.

He said development work costing Rs.849 crore under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission were being implemented in Faridabad, adding that efforts were being made to extend the Metro Rail line up to Ballabhgarh.

Referring to the issue of unauthorised colonies, he said he was aware of the problem being faced by the people of Haryana, and if necessary, a new law will be enacted on the pattern of Delhi. — PTI
