Title - Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute organizing two day discourse on 'Identity and Struggle'

The Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute is organising a two day discourse on "Being a women: Identity and Struggle" on its campus on September 11-12. The discourse will throw light on the struggle of women which they have faced in various social, economic and cultural spheres and will focus on the real meaning of a women. Intellectuals and academician from various spheres of life have been invited to participate in the discourse. The participants of the seminars are Prof Malini Bhattacharya, Susheela Taakbhore, Anita Bharti, Arundhati Dhuru, Seema Azad, Ranjana Kakkar Sunita Parmar, Sandeep Pandey, Vibha Durwar, Bharti Karnik, Anita Gopesh, Vimla Vyas, Rooprekha Verma, Charu Gupta, Anita Singh, Ranjana Sheel, Maya Saket, Geeta Singh, Dr Panna, Jean Dreze and Nisha Srivastava.

Freshers party: Devprayag Institute of Technical Studies and Devprayag Institute of Management welcomed their newly admitted students by organizing "Techelon 2012" at Devprayag technical campus. The programme started with the lighting of the amp. The chief guest of the programme, Chairman, Devprayag Group of Institutions Sushil Kumar Rastogi told about the importance of Technical Education. Garima Singh, student of Electronics and Communication branch presented her solo dance on "Churi Jo Khanke", which impressed the gathering. Director, DITS and DIM Prof. S C Rohatgi focused about the importance of Engineering in his speech. He welcomed all the newly admitted students and gave them special tips of the life. Anubhav Dwivedi and Prachi Singh were crowned as Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher. Aman Rai and Afreen Gulzar were awarded best well dressed in the function.

Felicitation: On eve of retirement of Kripayan Bhattacharya, deputy general secretary, All India Allahabad Bank Officers Federation from Allahabad Bank after 36 years of services, a felicitation programme was held at Allahabad Bank, Civil Lines Branch, Allahabad on Monday.

Urged: A delegation of farmers led by former congress state vice president Subodh Singh on Monday handed over a 16 charter of points memorandum to district authorities and urged to take corrective measures for the betterment of farmers at Bara. The Congress leaders also gave 10 days ultimatum or the farmers would be forced to sit on hunger strike.

Conference: A two day national conference entitled "Chemistry and Life" will be held at CMP College on September 16 and 17, said convenor CMP College Dr Mridula Tripathi.

Painting competition: Railway Electrification Women Welfare Organization (REWWO) organised a painting and drawing competition on Monday for the children of the railway employees. About 63 children participated in the competition. Numerous office bearers of REWWO were present in the programme.

Book released: North Central Railway general manager Alok Johri released a book 'Consolidated Delegation of Powers' at a function organised at the NCR headquarters here on Monday. Johri said knowledge of the delegation of power is necessary for discharging duties in the different departments and added that the book would serve as a guide for the officers in this direction. Further, the rules regarding the delegation of power and the financial sanction are also mentioned in the book.
