Title - General manager of Western Railway visits Vadodara

VADODARA: General manager (GM) of Western Railway R C Agrawal took stock of upkeep and development of passenger facilities at Vadodara railway station on Thursday.

Vadodara's divisional railway manager Naveen Kumar Shukla along with branch officers of the division remained present at the time of GM's visit.

Agrawal complimented the division's efforts particularly, the facelift given to the passenger reservation center, biometric facility, upgradation of retiring room, touch screen kiosk for PNR/accommodation enquiry, electronic LED display, touch screen kiosk for berth availability, electronic reservation charting facility among others.

"GM was happy that, to facilitate movement of disabled and aged persons ramps have been provided on platform number six and on platform numbers 2 and 3. The work of escalator on platform number one is also in advance stage," senior divisional commercial manager Pradeep Banerjee informed TOI.

"We have been directed that the escalator work should be completed by July 30. Also, GM emphasized on the need to scale up the facility at Alkapuri end of the station, particularly the circulating area, parking area and the passenger amenities," said Banerjee.

In appreciation of the sanitation standard at the station, upkeep of the facilities, initiatives in promoting passenger amenities, Agrawal has announced a cash group award of Rs 50,000.
