Nandevi Express that currently runs between Dehradun and New Delhi every day is all set to be extended upto Indore. As per rail officials, unless a major technical hurdle comes in the way, within few months this train will be extended to run till Indore.

Initially railway was planning to run this train to Jabalpur for seven days a week, but later Loksabha Speaker interjected the decision and forced rail officials to extend this train to Indore for few days a week.

Currently, Indore has two direct trains from New Delhi namely - Intercity and Malwa Express on a daily basis but from Dehradun one Biweekly express train connects to Indore and takes excess amount of time to complete the journey.

Note that Nanda Devi Express is a fully AC train consisting of AC 3 tier, AC two tier and AC First coaches. According to sources, this express train will go towards Indore for 4 days a week and 3 days to Jabalpur. However, final decision is still pending.
