Title - Fourth platform to be ready in a month

A review meeting on the development of the Thrissur railway station on Saturday decided to complete work on the fourth platform in a month. The railway had already commissioned platform No. 4 at the railway station in spite of protests by the passengers about the lack of basic facilities including a staircase, lighting and a waiting room.The passengers complained that platform No 4 did not have facilities to cater to passengers and so could not be used to receive passenger trains. P.C. Chacko, MP, urged the railway authorities to complete the work of platform as early as possible. He suggested using the Rs. 50 lakh allotted form the MP’s fund for railway station development for providing facilities at the platform.
