Title - Four South Eastern trains converted into LHB

In a measure to enhance passenger’s safety Indian railways is slowly converting old ICF rakes to new LHB rakes. Moving in a positive direction South Eastern Railways has also announced to convert four long distance trains to be equipped with LHB coaches. The listed four trains will be equipped with LHB coaches –

  • 22853 / 22854 Shalimar-Visakhapatnam Express from February 28
  • 22894 / 22893 Howrah-Sai Nagar Shirdi Express from March 02
  • 12870 / 12869 Howrah-Mumbai (CSTM) Express from March 3
  • 22857 / 22858 Santragachi-Anand Vihar Express from March 6

Conversion will also affect accommodation in these trains. New accommodation details –

22853 / 22854 Shalimar-Visakhapatnam Express – Additional berths

  • Sleeper – 88 berths
  • AC three – 16
  • AC two – 12

12870 / 12869 Howrah-Mumbai (CSTM) Express – Additional berths

  • Sleeper – 88 berths
  • AC three – 16
  • AC two – 12

22894 / 22893 Howrah-Sai Nagar Shirdi Express – Additional Berths

  • Sleeper – 64
  • AC three – 16
  • AC two - 6

22857 / 22858 Santagachi - Anand Vihar Express – Additional Berths

  • Sleeper – 64
  • AC three – 16
  • AC two - 6
